Retiring from the market is a very personal decision that has to do with your goals, if you have reached your goals already then there is nothing wrong with calling it quits and enjoy your profits, 600k dollars is a fortune in my country enough to live for the rest of your life, but if you have not reached your goals then it is important that you keep trading and investing until you do.

Hi Guys

I've been in the crypto scene for many years now, first time post here over a dilemma I am facing.

So, I am fortunate enough to make 600k from buying and trading Bitcoin and other crypto assets, and I don't know what to do with the money. Personally I think this is the year I will become a millionaire, as I can only see the marketcap of all coins growing. But friends close to me think I am an idiot for not selling yet, and if it were to collapse to zero, I would never forgive myself. But they don't know the market like I do, and I do believe that it is only the beginning. They say I should sell 95% buy a house, a car and live a nice lifestyle. I am frugal, have always lived within my means and never spent any crypto money as of yet, but I am tempted to start spending some of it now. I am 26 years old, rent an apartment and drive a car worth less than most peoples pushbikes.

My portfolio currently looks like this....

43% Raiblocks
40% Oyster Pearl
5% Enigma
4%Dash
1.5% Bitcoin
and tiny holdings in Waves, Lisk, Stratis, Game.....

I think that both XRB and PRL can double easily this year.

This is not based on greed btw, I want to make enough money so I can buy my siblings houses and see them mortgage free.

What would you do if you were me? When do we call it a day and give up trading?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

You should definitely take profits. I had a coin that had a meteoric rise right after Christmas and I sure wish I'd sold off a significant amount then.

What if you just sold half of everything you hold? Then you'd have $300,000 of cold, hard cash. You could buy a house with it, or if you are content with your current frugal lifestyle, then I would recommend you put a huge chunk of it into an SA 770 account. I know the guy behind this website--it's one of the best kept fiat investment secrets around, and as young as you are, you could enjoy many years of no risk background growth while you continued to play the crypto game with your remaining 300K net worth.

You are very lucky. If I were you, I would consider buying a house and buying a car, working hard before thinking about continuing to invest.
The investment purposes of almost all the people are the same. Everyone wants to buy his own house, car and even start his small regular business with the earnings from bitcoin. I have many dreams and I have invested in bitcoin because I want to make more money and fulfill all my dreams in the future. For me it is the easiest way of earning money.

Maybe, if I have that much, it better to call for a quit or just put yourself into relax. 600k is lot of money you could make your own business and grow it overtime. Crypyocurrency trading is uncertain always because its volaitle, you do not risk that big and put it to waste if market price will dump.

He could still hold his coin too if he wants because if he sells right now, I don't think that he can make a good profit because every altcoin in almost all of the exchanges is dropped 30% or more. but for me, if I can see that the price could go up into the highest pricE
You should not leave investment or sell it because if you do this it will never give you big amount of profit and you will never gain your business for your future planing so you should hold your money in bitcoin and after its high price you will get profit so you shouldn't leave this currency because it will very profitable for your kids future.
Of course quitting bitcoin is not a good idea while you should save more and more bitcoin, it has high profit for you if you will buy now and store it for long term, keeping your money with you will make it get rusted but investing your money in bitcoin will soon turn it more than double of price, so don’t leave bitcoin now as it is going to be future currency for us.
If you have only bitcoin then it is better to sell some of your holding and buy some property because real estate business is fast growing business in the world and you can make more money from this business. Keep some money in crypto and do not withdraw all your money because crypto is the future and you will need crypto in your future.

Well I think instead of selling your whole bitcoin you should sell 50% of it and keep 50% as it is, because this way you will get profit and will be able to reinvest your money once again, keep the other 50% saved as we know price of bitcoin can rise too high anytime so we can sue this money when price will be higher more than this and your 50% will become 100% once again, so use this planning.

First, I will congratulate you and I will say you're fortunate to have get into cryptocurrency at the right time before the all time high price which lead a lot of newbie into debt right because of their lack of knowledge. However, I will advice not to be greedy when invest, stick ti the strategy that work for you, learn more knowledge and I want you to know that this is still the beginning of crypto currency era so don't call it a day now.

If you are satisfied with your profits then it is a good idea to quit if I were you I will choose not to even if I was happy with my earnings, I will try to at least double that money when the next bull run happens and once that happens I will call it quits but I will still hold some bitcoin just in case bitcoin becomes incredibly valuable as many people in the forum predict.

There are such lucky people, I hope you've realized at least half of your profit by now. You wrote this post in January and if you didnt cash out that means most of your profit has gone. The lesson to be learned from here is that everyone has to set a goal for themselves and make a realization that goal is achieved.

Same here, hopefully OP could already decide based on the opinions that he is getting. It is very important to really take his profit. Whatever amount could that be tho I am stoll hoping that he would still keep atleast 25% for his trading since i think op is good in trading. $450k is still a good amount of money and a profit will always be a profit in the end.

To op never be hesitant to take any possible profit you could get cause in the end you still win

your advice is not worth acting because surely it is true that we can buy anything with bitcoin including real estate but making plan to sell bitcoin to buy some real estate as business is not profit making business, instead of doing this you can save your bitcoin for long term so you will earn good income that after a few years you will earn 90% more income than you can get by holding a piece of land, just think higher and plan well about holding your bitcoin, no need to sell, bitcoin has capacity to make your billionaire only for holding.

$ 600k is a pretty big amount and I hope that this investor has a way to make a profit or not lose in the difficult period of the whole market. The cryptocurrency market is not easy to make a profit as many still say, if you have no knowledge, experience, acumen and a little luck, then it is difficult to succeed.

How did you get to make up to $600,000 from this cryptocurrency biz? Lol, I’m still struggling to make up to a thousand dollars and here you are, just a lucky man. $600,000 in my country currency is a very huge amount of money and if I’m to make such an amount of money from Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency I would probably call it a quit.

But we are both from different locations, so you should make that decision yourself. If you believe that there is the possibility that you can make extra gain, then you can continue.

From what we are seeing after the post was created, the trading business for crypto is more harder than the previous year, the corrections and the downtrend movements are still being felt though we are seeing small rise but we still need to be careful and keep our earnings safe, if I made that
much money by now, I'll quit and enjoy a life placing alternative businesses from where am I now.
