My 3rd just started hashing at 1 hour 21 mins. It just sucks that you lose all the hashing my time on the S9s where the L3+ instantly connects.

Ouch! What the hell did Bitmain do to that latest firmware?? Or more to the point *what* is reason for it? Are they running the chips in more critical power/speed regimes than they used to and so need finer tweaking?

As for boot time vs the L3, doesn't the L3 use the now very mature 28nm node for its chips? Autotune came about because the 14/16nm nodes are still FAR from having anywhere near as predictable performance per-chip so boards have to be preheated and performance tweaked each time they run.
