Powering GPUs

I have a few GTX 1070 TIs. The ASUS version only requires 1x 8pin adapter to power it, but it looks like the EVGA ones require 2x 8pin adapters (not counting the risers). My questions:

1) Is the following screenshot correct - do I need to use 2x 8pin adapters as such: http://prntscr.com/hybhyq

Depends how much cards draws. 8 pin plug (6+2) can handle 150w. Your card might require more, so you need more than just one 8 pin.

Downvolt you GPU's, connect splitter (use hq splitter), then run miner and check wires if they not hot - all will be ok
Other way calculate power consumption, for this you must connect amper meter and multiple indicator to 12, this was your power consumption in watts.
How msg beforce one connector can upload 150W

well I have palit GTX 1070 ti with one eight pin connector
it is working quite good and consumes about  170W in total @ PL100, but I'm using it @ PL85 usually and it is about 140-145W
so I guess you can use this splitter, but maybe using PL 85-95 will a good idea

1. will safer if you are using number 1 scheme. 8pin PCIe  power connector can provide up to 150, it means (2x150 + 75 (from PCIe 16x)/2x150 + 25 (from PCIe 1x)). More space safer (even when 1070Ti only has 180 watts TDP).
2. I'm using Corsair RM 1000i, come with 8 pin PCIe to 2 x 6+2 connector in the end (original cable from Corsair), it's okay to powering 2x8pin or 8+6pin. But I'm not sure with Y splitter that you provide on those link. It can but too risky for long terms I think.

The 1070ti, even if reasonably overclocked, really doesn't need to make full use of dual onboard 8-pin PCIe power connectors.

You could, more than likely, get by using quality 1x 8-pin to 2x 8-pin splitters, keeping a limit at one per line. Each of those PSU lines should be able to handle more than 1x 8-pin connection.

Do be careful plugging in the connectors. Your image seems to show that one of the add-on (+2) connectors isn't connected to the card properly.

I am using MSi 1070 TI's which have 8 + 6 power connections.  I ran a dedicated 8 (6+2) pin to each one.  Then ran a third 8 pin VGA  and I used a 8 pin splitter (the ends are 6+2) for the 6 pins.
