Hey everyone! I've put off signing up here for a long time, but I think it's about time  Smiley

I've been interested in bitcoin for a pretty long time, and have been following it pretty closely for the last 5 months or so, mainly on the bitcoin subreddit. I'm a VERY strong believer in the idea, and will do whatever I can to spread it around and make it succeed. I've been a PHP developer for many years, and am just now starting to learn how to develop with bitcoind so that I can apply it to new startups, and get a better understanding of its inner workings.

My main goal in life is to help move the world forward in its evolution, and I believe bitcoin is one of the outlets that will enable me to do so. Decentralization in all aspects of life is one of the main characteristics of the future, and I believe our future is very bright. I believe the next few decades will be pivotal years for all of humanity, and I'm very excited to be a part of it!

All the best to everyone,

Hey, nice looking site! The quickest way to learn PHP, IMO, is just to get yourself a book and read through it, doing a number of small projects along the way to apply the information =) And of course, stackoverflow.com is your friend!

No problem! I actually started learning PHP/MySQL just from reading random tutorials on the internet, and looking up the specific information I needed for the task at hand, but I realized that I was actually being VERY inefficient and wasting a lot of time. Going through a whole course, like in a book, gets rid of all the mysteries pretty quickly and puts you to work instead of research.

Learning php and sql is defintely the way to go if you want to make powerful, user friendly websites. Its difficult to learn at first, but just drown yourself in information and trying it out and its not that hard to grasp it.
