How can I know the real market prices ?
you should ask yourself "why do i want to know these prices?" the answer you give to this question will guide you on how you can get the real price that suits your need. for example you want to know prices in order to: - just know them and see how much everything is worth. it doesn't matter what you use, you can get the price from anywhere since the accuracy doesn't play a role here. - to know price of every single token and see what is performing well and what is performing badly that day. in this case coinmarketcap and all the alternatives are good options as long as you can get ALL the coins information in one place. it is used to do some initial analysis on the market and see where the money is going to. - to make trades based on recent price for this case accuracy is the important factor so you can not use places such as coinmarketcap.com and alternatives because they update their prices with a big delay (5 minutes in this case) and for trading you need live price. for this you should use the exchanges themselves either check the place you trade in or open multiple windows and watch different exchanges (or use their APIs in a program to fetch the prices) - there may be more cases that i can't think of, feel free to tell us why so we can help better.

How can I know the real market prices ?
coinmarketcap, livecoinwatch and coingecko have been giving me different prices the whole day.
For example now:
coinmarketcap: BTC= 14600$, ETH= 1363, XRP= 2.02 livecoinwatch: BTC= 14592, ETH= 1410, XRP= 2.38 coingecko: BTC= 15462, ETH= 1416, XRP= 2.00
The differences were bigger earlier.
Just wanting to get some of your info, experiences,.. about this.
As far as I know, the most accurate statistics and price listing is coinmarketcap, all coinmarkets are created once they have been added to the coinmarketcap to be of great value and accurate to every coinmarketing detail. I believe that coinmarketcap is the most accurate, while other trading floors they can update as well as adjust the price to suit each floor, it is important to see the pair of BTC / USDT.

The price that shown in the coinmarketcap/other such websites are close to the price which it is trading at the different exchanges where the price data is pulled from. You might have different price because, of the different source of exchanges these websites pull the data from.

If you want to track rates any coin. Go to the Market section on Coinmarketcap to determine which top 2 exchange floors have the highest volume percentage of this coin. Then go to 2 exchange floors to track the exchange rate is the most accurate. Coinmarketcap only aggregates the average price of all exchange floors so the exchange rate will deviate and update later than the exchange platform.

We've got different platforms to keep track of the growth happening with each and every asset. Most of the users here prefer coinmarketcap. The value varies between each website and to have a accurate value better is to take the average. Possibly the value in coinmarketcap gets resembled on most of the exchanges.

In my experience (too), most of the "market cap" reporting sites are inaccurate. As a matter of fact, there all mostly inaccurate due to the fact they all get their data from Coinmarketcap's API--There doing nothing more than copying and pasting CMC's numbers (just not in sync). This is why I developed http://www.cryptocoinwatch.com -- I made a post about it on this forum earlier this month, but I felt this would be a good thread to share the site with you guys. Every number on the site is being fetched/calculated with data fed directly (and almost in realtime) from the exchanges listed at http://www.cryptocoinwatch.com/exchanges. I think you will notice how much more accurate Cryptocoin Watch is compared to CMC. I hope it helps!

Truely, the prices from coinmarketcap, the exchanges and even that in the wallet are not the same most time. They have differences in fraction which might not be noticeable. For me, I don't really border much on that. They are different platforms and stake their prices differently.

I also use coinmarketcap to know the coin price, it is just a benchmark and can not be used as a reference. The actual price is the price that is on Exchange.
Coinmarketcap is a huge reference and a huge tool for new tokens to be promoted in there, i do not see why we shouldn't use it. But the price is an average of all the exchanges in where X token/coin is listed on. it is not the real price.

I use coinmarketcap, but double check the bitcoin price directly through bitstamp's API using this link. https://www.bitstamp.net/api/ticker/

I personally prefer coinmarketcap.com because he's neutrally without implication of any crypto. The difference of a dollar or two more in the price in each exchange isn't something that needs to be exaggerated all have a certain time lag and everything will come back at a price that is the same.

maketcap coins is a place to look at prices and 95% accurate and we can compare all prices and transaction volumes in one exchange, if want to know 100% the actual price we have to directly monitor the exchange. because it is not possible to synchronize the same 100% price as the exchange because the price movement is very fast

Not the reason at all behind it, the real reason is that all of the different exchanges are going to have their prices put against one another, weighted, and then they're going to put the AVERAGE price between all of the exchanges. This is going to weight them based on trading volume if their trades are open to all people (take SK, China, Japan for example who don't allow much outside interaction in their exchanges), and probably some other things. So it's not off, it's just different from your exchange as it should be.

I think coinmarketcap is fine, and coinmarketcap is might be the best way to check the accuracy of the coins because it follow the highest price of the market. For example if the price traded in certain broker is higher than other brother then coinmarketcap will follow the highest price to be update to there site. But sometimes coinmarketcap has some error also so beware of that and some glitch when they add some new list coins to the market and might possible the price suddenly up without volume trades so note about that. good luck

coinmarketcap is not an exchange. It just a website which collects price in other exchanges and give you the average price. You should research carefully before giving the opinion

I think that for you to know the real value of each coin, it must be evaluated based on the application and its benefits, the price listed on the exchange that is only commercial price, is inflated or Price pressure is affected by the fall of bitcoin. Therefore, if you trade only should pay attention to the price.
