Ethereum has been quite bullish whilst the rest of crypto markets halt their rise. ETH/USD markets are now experiencing a big price rise at gains greater than 10% through the last 24 hours while the currency's volumes continue to grow.

I was telling my people when Ethereum was around $300 that this is going to hit $2000, I'm not surprise about the price action at all, I believe there will likely be another price correction when BTC rally starts but $2000 is around the corner

ETH out of all scope rose really fantastic in last couple of days. Infact major coins has been bleeding red and ETH is making new highs. It is having the best bull run now and should not happen that this bull run ends and the fall starts of ETh as due to sudden spike in the prices.

We've had the Casper testnet release over the new year, so it looks like PoS is really on the way now. Some of the rise will be due to that.
Looking at what is planned, 2018 seems very promising for Ethereum. I've been talking about the possibility of it passing bitcoin in marketcap for a while - 2018 could be the year it happens.
