This question can certainly not be answered since there are many good coins with the potential to take over from each other. For instance BTC, ETH, LTC and DASH are some very potential coins for huge growth. LTC made it from $4 to $400 last year which is 100x in just a sinle year.
BTC made 19x times and ETH made 5x times. Apart from these there will be some new coins coming in the market over the year which might make more gains than these potential coins. So answering which coin will show the maximum growth will purely be just an assumption.

obviously it will be bitcoin again with everything that it has going on for it and all the whales that are currently accumulating it at the bottom prices without anyone noticing and while they are singing the doom song

but also i think ripple will take the honor again after a couple of months. i think this year the XRP pump was about 7000% before they released new coins and dumped them so it got dumped hard. and now it is getting dumped hard again. after a couple of months of dumping and reaching low prices they will pump it again. and since it is small and centralized they can always pump it 7000% again.

I'm thinking Bitcoin, Etherium, Ripple, and Litecoin value will appreciate above normal than before on this 2018. But on this all 4 cryptocurrencies, Etherium will have maximum growth because of the potential and the buzz developed by social media.

Bitcoin have the maximum growth over this year.i think in the starting of this year btc price is very less than today price.Bitcoin crossed upto the $20000 in this year but as now it price is $14800.And the second number of coin is eth.Th eth price increasing too much during this year.nowdays it's crossed upto the $1400.And many of the altcoins like DASH and RIPPLE Are increaseing too much during this year.bitcoin cash also included in this list.
