Seems like these days, with all the banning of social ads, airdrops is a solid way to gain social outreach. Just do your own research on the project, like you would do if you were to invest in it.  If the project seems legit, then probably so is the airdrop.

Personal views, I don't think anybody should be bothered about how legit a particular airdrop is because airdrops are a bonus, of which you don't pay for . so you shouldn't be disturbed about the legitimacy, just apply it comes all good.

If you are lucky with Airdrop, you will benefit from it. Because so far, I see airdrop only a small gift allocation, and I never get a definite benefit from airdrop. Maybe I was not lucky.
