Hi there,
Due to the recent, and not so recent, FUD around the bitcoin exchanges and government regulations, I would like to ask you if you already use a decentralized exchange, and if so which one? And if you use just for crypto to crypto or also for crypto to fiat?
Thank you

I've been using Bitshares DEX for a while now and it's becoming my main trading platform. It's fairly easy to use once you get the hang of it and there are many interesting features. It offers margin trading, smartcoins, flexible collaterals and you can trade at any pair that you want. You can read about it here http://docs.bitshares.org/bitshares/user/dex.html

I don't know other exchange than etherdelta. This exchange offers trading pair ERC-20 token to ETH
But my experience is bad. The exchange depends on Ethereum network which is hard to operate when the ETH network is busy.

I know about bitsquare and tried to use it almost a year ago but can't find any buy orders to sell my coins there after that I have never visited them.
I have been using etherdelta which is ether based decentralized exchange but recently they have also gone through dns hack so I am not convinced with level of security they promise these days.

I'm using/have used waves dex and etherdelta. waves dex i like it(has nice UI), but it doesn't yet supports ETH tokens and many other alts, well it might in future and it's going to be awesome! etherdelta needs a new UI and better security, otherwise people are gonna just stop using them. also i have found another dex for erc tokens trading idex(was recently launched), check it out.

I don't think there are decentralized exchanges that allow you to trade crypto to fiat. Actually, most exchanges don't allow you to do that, because you need a license to have something to trade vs fiat. I doubt we will see that in decentralized exchanges. On the best case scenario you will probably be able to trade it to tether or something like that. As for what dex I have used, I can tell you that right now I only tired etherdelta and just to sell ERC-20 tokens. Dex are still to laggy at the moment, and they need to build more trust among users.

If you're asking about fiat to crypto trading pairs, then no, but there are market-pegged assets called smartcoins that are backed by BTS, like bitUSD, bitCNY, bitEUR and bitGOLD. These are borrowed as a debt from the network, locking BTS as a collateral. The minimum required collateral for most bitAssets like the bitUSD is 2x, which means that every bitUSD is backed by at least $2 worth of BTS

Thank you sounds interesting I'll give it a shot! Fiat are available as well?
Converting cryptos to fiat are heavily monitored by government as it was more proned to money laundering and any kinds of illegal activities. That's an easy gateway for those who wants to do shit and can be abused. If some decentralized exchanges will opened and have a service like that, surely it will taken down in no time. What is your purpose anyways. Anonymity? No way you can't experienced that as long as fiat is involved. Legit exchanges can't run without proper regulations.

With local bitcoin I can get a bit of anonymity for fiat

There's a lot of material that can help you learn how to use it. I can tell you that once you get used to it it's really easy. I think it's worth the effort Here's a step by step tutorial https://steemit.com/bitshares/@justinsonics/how-to-use-the-bitshares-decentralized-exchange-a-beginner-s-guideIf you have any problem or doubt about it you can also ask in the Telegram group, the community is active and very helpful. I think the name is BitsharesDEX

Many centralized crypto currency exchanges attacked by the hackers all the time so using the crypto currency exchanges on the decentralized platform would be right place to start your trading experience. These decentralized exchanges are the future of the crypto currencies. As the stupid South korean banning the trading sites we are finding more dump in all the cryptos. I am just listing the best decentralized exchanges below bro, check it out. WavesDex, OpenLedger, CryptoBridge, Bisq and bitsquare. So you can choose your best option to start.

Dont forget on listing EtherDelta too which is the common exchange as of now when it comes on trading up erc20 tokens. Decentralized platform doesnt guarantee thats its not hackable.Just like what we do saw on previous incident of DNS hack which do open our eyes that it is really possible even on a centralized or decentralized ones. Hacking incident is always there. For now among the list i do only tried up ED and bitsquare and dex but same as being said above i didnt use it because of experiencing of lag.
