Complete novice to cryptocurrency trading but I have traded in stock markets in the past(long time ago). Given that my job is long hours and I do have periods of time where I can use my smartphone. I was wondering which applications people recommend to create as complete a setup on smartphone as possible. Where I can monitor prices, control/transfer funds between wallets etc

Not possible to use my laptop at work so any help appreciated Smiley

If you want to trade directly using phone application, it will depends on the exchange you want to use. For example, there is mobile applications for KuCoin. You can always use browser to browse those exchanges anywhere, but the interface might not be convenience.

If you want to check for price only, I suggest Blockfolio.

Never, ever trade on a smart phone because it doesn't have most of the functionalities you can find on a web version of an exchange and most importantly, no applications whatsoever exist because first and foremost, it isn't viable to trade using a smartphone and really, smartphones have a lot of restrictions compared to a PC. You can keep track of your trades and the number of tokens you are currently holding to be organized, but directly buying and selling/initiating and executing trades on a phone? I don't think so.

So I assume what you're advising is to get an app such as blockfolio and use the web on my phone to monitor current market conditions/share prices and then use a pc to actually complete transactions and the like.
Very helpful information, thank you both. Are there any markets you'd suggest I take a look at or any you have a personal preference for given the interfaces etc?

Have you tried the Bianance? They have a pretty sweet mobile app.

Edit: Link removed. Link in signature.

I never use a smartphone to trade cryptocurrencies because I use to open a lot of charts and I cant do technical analysis on my smartphone properly. It is also very risky to trade on your smartphone because your smartphone could be infected by malware, people steal your smartphone and recover all your funds and the screen is too small so you can make a mistake and market sell your investment.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I'll definitely give binance a try! Will take a look at kucoin and okex(cheers alluro!).
Ive been told a number of markets have closed sign ups from new applicants, understandable given the buzz around cryptos as of late. Any that are relatively mainstream and good to trade on that I can actually sign up for? Any help appreciated

Coinmarketcap is one of the best place to get all coins market historical charts and price information. They have an android app that you can download on google play to enjoy on the goal.

I would say that for me the most user friendly android app that I tried were binance, freewallet and poloniex. Now I mostly use freewallet, it has better fees
