Mining altcoins on normal device to start learning?0

Do you guys know if there are altcoins that are worth mining on normal devices? doesn't have to generate that much profit, just generate something to start messing around and get the grip of it before actually investing in building a GPU rig.
My main goal here is to get used to the process of mining and how to estimate stuff, also want to learn using trading platforms, switch mining between coins, and how to use light wallets for them.
