I was holding Bitcoin in a personal wallet that didn't support bitcoin cash at the time the bitcoin/ bitcoin cash fork occurred. Since there were no officially "safe" wallets supporting bitcoin cash right after the fork and I wanted to be sure I did not loose my Bitcoin in the process; I moved my Bitcoin to a different wallet before I tried to put my private key into any of the wallets supporting Bitcoin cash at the time to claim it.
I never managed to claim my Bitcoin Cash at the time since the private key always just showed an empty wallet.
While i do not have the original Bitcoin wallet installed on my PC at the time i still have the private keys etc. to go with it. Is there still a way to claim the Bitcoin cash or is it lost for good?
And if it is still retrievable what would be the best way to go about it?
Any help would be appreciated

Your wallet software is just software, the amount of money that Blockchain recognizes that you have in your wallet is what is important.

If you had Bitcoins on an address before Bitcoin Cash launched then you will have Bcash within your wallet.
Just download Coinomi on your phone and import your private keys into it.
Bither wallet works as well.

thank you so much. I have downloaded Coinomi but it only accepts WIF, BIP38 and Mini private keys. The keys i have are in the WIFC format. I'm using the 'wallet details' function on bitadress.org to get the WIF format and then use the scan code to import the key. Is that the correct way to do it or is there a better way?
Also (just to make sure I'm doing this right) I am importing the keys to the Bitcoin Cash wallet; correct?

Just got through scanning every private key in the wallet dump I did back in August into Coinomi and they all came up empty. I did the dump after the fork and after transferring the bitcoin out of the wallet. is that the problem? or would there be some other reason? I'm at a complete loss where I'm going wrong with this  Huh
