Hi,
I am looking for alternatives to Coinbase to buy Bitcoin from fiat currency (USD) that better transaction fees than Coinbase. Is there any that accepts Amex too?
Thanks Stephane

As you said localbitcoins.com is the best place to buy bitcoins using fiat currency because it is available in all the countries so you just can use your local bank account to buy bitcoins. But you need to be caustious while buying bitcoins because the fee is too high at the moment so if a trader sends you the bitcoin with too low fee then it will get unconfirmed for days and may return back to his wallet. So it is better to read the feedback of the traders before initiating your traders.

You can use GDAX and keep your Coinbase account (as they belong together) but get much better rates while buying and selling.

When comparing to localbitcoins you will not find the more value than in any exchange bro. So buying the bitcoin with the localbitcoins is the best option to hold the fund for sometime. When you goes to deposit the fund in the bitcoin wallet, they will ask you deposit fees including the transaction fees. This is what we noticed in the LBC wallet when we use to sell the bitcoins for the money. When buying the bitcoins with the wallet you should have to use your debit or credit card to get the bitcoins. Automated escrows will handle the transaction safely.

Of course there still a lot of them. Like coinmama, Luno, Bitquick and more. Some exchanger accept fiat too like Cex, and Kraken. And i just checked my cryptopay and looks like you can buy bitcoin with a bank card on there.

It actually depends on which country you are from because nowadays many local bitcoin exchanges are there in each country and they allow us to buy with either bank deposit or credit cards. You can use LocalBitcoin for buy bitcoin with fiat, another way is using blockchain.info, but blockchain not support to buy bitcoin on some country. Or you can use another service like paxful. Local bitcoin sellers price usually quite higher than market price so we should find one who can sell at reasonable price. You need to negotiate first how much he has to pay the transaction fee before you send money to him. Also, after he sends money you can ask free accelerators accelerate your transaction.

Localbitcoin.com is a better place for selling our bitcoins than buying bitcoins because normally the price is little higher from the market place. But localbitcoin have traders from all over the world some countries sell for cheaper price too,so if he can find a way to pay them in their local currencies then he can make good profits out of it. But I am always using localbitcoins.com exchange for buying and selling because it is very easy and comfortable and it allows me to pay in my local currencies over USDs.

Of course sellers have the advantage there. It's an exchange that serves mainly as alternative to how centralized exchanges are more and more forcing people to fully verify themselves, which is something the sellers know as well, so premiums are a normal thing on that platform. I personally think it's well justified, but in some cases the premiums are just too steep. It's not for nothing that LocalBitcoins is climbing up in ranking so quickly - people don't want to hand an utter stranger their personal details, selfie, ID scan, etc. I however have been reading about some unpleasant experiences of people with cocky/shady sellers demanding a higher price when meeting in person, so it's definitely not only positive.

You can use LocalBitcoin for buy bitcoin with fiat, another way is using blockchain.info, but blockchain not support to buy bitcoin on some country. Or you can use another service like paxful. Blockchain.info? there are a lot of alternatives to coinbase, they are the most shitty exchange and they are clearly spamming the whole mempool all day long with all their over-priced fees. That is why we are always seeing transactions with over 0.0011 worth of fees, and that is insane, since the regular fee is over 0.0005 at the moment. I do not know, gemini is a good option in order to replace it, i am using this, and it works pretty smooth.

I don't know why you are saying that blockchain.info is another way but you are contradicting your first words about it and as far as majority's concern, we all know that it's a web wallet. There's no way to buy bitcoin there, it's more focused for being a storing wallet. Here the updated list I have so far. Thanks guys for your inputs
Try to trade with LBC and take a good experience there, good luck!

Those are advertisements so you got them wrong. I assume that you have seen remitano because that's the ad that I'm also seeing most of the time. That's not a feature of blockchain.info and they have to earn through ads too since they are just simple and plain web wallet and they have to provide something just to cover their expenses too.

Hi,
I am looking for alternatives to Coinbase to buy Bitcoin from fiat currency (USD) that better transaction fees than Coinbase. Is there any that accepts Amex too?
Thanks Stephane
I think coinbase is the only place that accepts credit cards. If you are in the US and are willing to make a wire transfer, try Gemini. If you are in Europe and can make a SEPA deposit, try Bitstamp.
