CoinGecko vs CoinMarketCap

Which site are people using most to check prices.  I've generally been looking at coingecko but there does seem to be a price difference when looking at coinmarketcap.

Look at the price at the moment for ETH/USD:

https://www.coingecko.com/en/price_charts/ethereum/usd        $1,290.21

Quite a difference! Which one is more accurate?  Or another site?

coinmarketcap is oldest and most accurate site for cryptocurrencies market index till date it is number 1 index rest all index are newly developed with no accuracy in data there is another website called www.coinbazaar.net

As far as I know CoinMarketCap is most accurate than other site. More bitcoiners uses this site to check the prices. If more bitcoiners use this site this mean this is accurate and no doubt that even new comers use this site too to check the prices of coins.

Coinmarketcap is the best ever site so majority of the peoples are looking this sites. But coingecko is new to this crypto platform compared to Coinmarketcap and I am also believe in Coinmarketcap because is more accurate in any other sites.
Everything should be your personal perspective so you check both the site. But all the sites are little bit changing the status no one is accurate status.

Theres no doubt on that where coinmarketcap do somehow the lead on here yet most people are always preferring on checking prices of crypto into this site.I didnt even bother to use up coingecko since CMC do already gives the thing i do need when it comes on checking prices this is why I do suggest coinmarketcap over that coingecko. Prices would really be entirely different each other but somehow they do have only small spreads when it comes to difference of prices.

Coinmarketcap has already build a quite a reputation  in crypto world so majority traders prefer cmc price.coingecko will take time to reach cmc level of trust but it is also a good site.

The fact is that the prices for altcoyins on different stock exchanges may differ. Therefore it is quite normal that the prices on different stock exchanges are so different, because the supply and demand are different everywhere.

coinmarketcap recently launched ios app and coinmarketcap have lot of rumors still the website is number one site for coin index they have revamped their site with new look

I have always used CoinMarketCap to check prices and didn't even know that there is some site on which different information. I think it is strange but I trust to CoinMarketCap

I actually kinda like the Coingecko, the site has a lot more going on in the background. They have an event page that is filterable to countries, not to mention that they tend to update their algorithms a little bit more often.

I prefer coinmarketcap, the difference between price and market for exchange is very accurate for me. but in coingecko there is something interesting that coinmarketcap doesn't have, that is you can find the price of the token at the start of the ICO time up to the list price.

Coingecko. It lists numerous small coins and has a statistics for exchanges, prices and links to their Ann.
