"Fried chicken chain KFC Canada is accepting bitcoin – for a limited time and for a cryptocurrency-themed bucket of chicken."

"The limited-time marketing move sees the Canada-based chain advertising "The Bitcoin Bucket" complete with a Facebook-based live-tracker of the standing price for the product, which works out to roughly 20 Canadian dollars depending on the exchange rate with bitcoin."

Will more and more restaurants start to accept bitcoin as payment method?

Well i think more people will be interested in bitcoin if more restaurants would accept bitcoin as payment..
Like here in my country there are few stores and restaurant are accepting bitcoin as payment and i am lucky that i know about bitcoin..
Bitcoin is already made big changes in the world and we can now pay cash less just in our phone without withdrawing money from atm machine..
We will see more merchant locally will accept bitcoin as payment since its easy to use and if you use bitcoin you can feel that you are more advanced in technology and i heard this year we will see more restaurant and stores will accept bitcoin with rebate or discount.

Well you can forget fast food because of the transaction time with Bitcoin and who could afford
to tip the waiter after being mugged by BTC miners for $30 per transaction.

if the road is broken then no point buying a car.

Mining is CPU-wars and Intel, AMD like it nearly as much as big oil likes miners wasting electricity. Is this what mankind has come too.

I want to be the optimist. Yes, the experiment might fail now, but it will get international attention. <Good or Bad>

When the Lightning Network is fully adopted, we will have near instant transactions and it will be virtually free. <No 3rd party needed>

Bitcoin with Lightning Network, will knock their socks off. I think a lot restaurants and fast food places will accept Bitcoin, after the Lightning Network is launched.

KFC will be seen as a Early adopter of the technology, by the time when the rest catch up to them. ^smile^

I think it is still too early for many restaurants to do so, as there are not enough customers interested in this yet, at least for my country. A supermarket here accepts bitcoin but only had 300 transactions in half a year

KFC accepting BTC is still little more than a marketing stunt, although a good one at that. Also note that they were clever enough to make the Bitcoin Bucket a home delivery product only, thus circumventing possible confirmation delays.

Paying for food delivery with Bitcoin has been possible for years now. I don't expect restaurants to accept Bitcoin at the point of sale though, at least not until the likes of Lightning Network has reached a production ready state.

yes

21 forever was asked to accept bitcoin

21 forever accepting Bitcoin would be pretty funny.

Paying for food delivery with Bitcoin has been possible for years now.
The Dutch website thuisbezorgd.nl has over 7000 connected restaurants to choose deliveries from, and it's been accepting Bitcoin for years.
I used to use it, until fees got higher than my order! I highly doubt any restaurant will start accepting Bitcoin until the fee problem is solved.

The “Bitcoin Bucket” costs .0011204 BTC and comes with two dips., at current fees that almost doubles to around 0.002 BTC out of your wallet, and if KFC wants to spend the 0.0011204 BTC, most of it will have to be paid in fees again. Unless you order much more than just one bucket of course.
From a company's perspective, it's okay to spend money on publicity, but long-term they want to make a profit.
