First understand Ripple concept. It is not just coin but technology through which a bridge can get build in between Cryptos and Fiat. And ledgers can get created.

Look at there Wiki page and u will realize , they are continue working on it. This is not easy to come in main media specially when such a big coins like BTC, ETH are present accruing base markets in almost all trades.

And investment in other assets is a good thing not bad. And you are getting what u are investing.

I am not sure about the rumors that you are talking about, but calling XRP(Ripple) a shitty coin isn't right. The coin is growing very fast, and is getting the attention of the investors from all around the world. I know that Korean investors have played a very important role in increasing the value of it, but I still believe that it could go further high without them.
