Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Account activity = Post count or 14*(2 week periods of atleast 1 message posted), whichever is lower. Updates every XX:00 and XX:30.

Yes.
Considering that, you can increase your activity by:
- posting new message if your activity is equal to your number of posts, or
- waiting 2 weeks and posting a new message, to increase the maximum activity you can reach.
