Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

it is the safest way to save your coins (hardware wallet), but a ledger doesn't support all coins (yet). only the popular ones like eth, btc, ada ...
Can you suggest me some hardware wallets which support almost any coins?

There's more than 1000 cryptocurrencies and counting, so that would be quite a feat Smiley

As far as alts are concerned, while Ledger supports only a fraction of available cryptocurrencies it still has the widest range:

Trezor:

KeepKey:

It seems buying a hardware wallet from anywhere other than direct or through an authorized reseller is asking for heartache.  There are sellers who cheat buyers by selling modified hardware wallets (that result in theft of crypto) so best to avoid buying on ebay or any other places other than direct or authorized dealers.

Here you can find all Ledger Nano S supported coins:https://www.ledgerwallet.com/products/ledger-nano-s
And information from their website:
Quote
please note, that you can install about 5 or 6 applications at the same time on a Nano S, 8 to 10 on a Blue, but you can manage all the coins above by removing and installing the applications. Removing an application won't make you lose your coins, they will still be attached to your wallet. You'll simply have to reinstall the dedicated application - a few seconds process - to manage this coin again.

You absolutely right. Never buy hardware wallet from third party sellers. Buy only from official website or official resellers. But now the problem that currently due to huge demand Nano S wallet is out of stock and you only can pre-order it and receive on end of the March. Also, they increased price of the wallet. Buying from official resellers iseven more expensive. Offcourse, it's not reason to buy HW wallet from unauthorised reseller Smiley

$100 is not expensive when you compare it to what you are keeping safe on the device. (Private Keys)

And as other have stated, there has been hacks from suspect sellers. They pre load the 24 word private key to the device and use that to steal the cryptos one you load up all of the crypto private keys.
