That's why ethereum will be migrating into the pos system as fast as possible. How so many people are using a lot of energy to secure the bitcoin network and make it still decentralized. I think that there will be a lot of the new coin that will be used environmentally friendly energy. Pow is really bad imo.

I don´t think bitcoin will switch from POW to POS, maybe will be the miners who will change their way to obtain mining power. For example, Hydrominer will use hydroelectric energy from hydro power stations in the Alps to mine BTC and other cryptocurrencies, maybe big mining pools will switch to green energy in the future.
