Hello World!

Yes, I'm a newbie. But I’m desperate so please hear (read) me out if you will.

I've owned my own business for over 20 years. It remains a respected consultancy, though I’ve had to lay off my workforce (this is not publically known.) I can prove who I am through Google, Facebook, my business website, etc., but prefer not to have my name pop up here in a Google search.

A few years ago, my only sister (and best friend) was murdered in a domestic murder-suicide (I can prove this.) It gutted me and left me unable to work due to PTSD (we had to clean up the aftermath) and a severe anxiety disorder. If it weren't for my husband's job, I would be homeless.

With his support, and that of a great therapist, I am overcoming these challenges and I have started taking on clients again. However, I have exhausted my resources during this time of healing and recovery and I’m on the verge of losing some things critical to my business.

My financial needs are small: advertising, website and database hosting and maintenance, licensing fees, association dues (to remain relevant in my field), etc., but even those are beyond my reach. My credit has suffered as I've used credit cards to stay afloat. I need to pay those down a bit to have some operating capital.

I’ve looked into BTC as a side hustle and that’s how I came to this board.

I am very good at what I do and well-respected in my industry. I can provide significant proof of my past success and reputation: links to my website and KLOUT, LinkedIn profiles, published articles, media quotes, etc. I'm the real deal—I just need some help.

Any help you can provide will be appreciated and paid back within 60 days at 10.5% interest (on the dollar.) My collateral is my reputation—the most valuable thing I own. I will put my LinkedIn profiles (business and personal) and url up so you may out me to the world if I don’t pay. That’s not lip service, I have over 800 followers and a serious interest in keeping my name pristine.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any help.

ETA Collateral: Taking some good advice to let you know I have a url (8 letters, .com, my business name) that has been around for over 15 years and is the top non-paid result for many searches. They are specific to my industry, but the URL has significant value, as does my reputation. I wouldn't risk it.

ETA AGAIN: My website average value is $2.6K. I adjusted my request accordingly.

Oh, donations of any size happily accepted too! (Never hurts to ask!) 3BQnr28icb8TStTue8bE6PeYUGcuyhsWr3

So youre not asking for a loan but donations? No one is going to donate anything to you and you have no reputation here (and i doubt anywhere) for it to be collateral (even though even if you did, you would still need collateral 120% of what youre asking). Idk if what you said above is true so im only ignoring that since its not a factor in deciding if you would get a loan or not.

If you really want a loan, read https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=577765.0 and either provide valid collateral 120% of what youre asking or lock this thread before you receive a negative feedback.

No, I'm asking for a loan. I appreciate the feedback and I will take your advice.

I don't have a reputation here, but I assure you I have a stellar reputation, as does my business, in my industry. I wouldn't risk that. Full stop. My website url alone has been around for 15 years and is the top result (not paid) for many searches.

Thanks for your comments. I will adjust the post.

Are you going to be releasing this information to potential lenders? Because your word means nothing.
Also, your logic makes no sense. How are you so well respected and known in your industry and yet your business is failing?

If you have a stellar reputation in the real world, why not just get a bank loan? Most credit cards are approved quickly for folks with no blemishes. And if your credit is too scarred to get a real world loan, why should anyone on here trust you?

Of course. I will release all this to a lender.

My business isn't failing, it is at risk of failing. Please read my original post as to why.

My stellar reputation is in my industry. I have relied on credit cards to keep my business going for the last few years while I was unable to work. They are maxed, so I can't get a traditional loan, which is why I am trying this non-traditional route. Why does anyone come here if they can get a loan in the "real world?"

I am not asking anyone to trust ME, but to trust in the collateral I will provide. No bank will take a URL and a personal reputation as collateral, no matter how much it is worth in future revenue. I am hoping someone here will see the value of both and take a chance. The URL could be repurposed as an ad farm, or a one-page banner that reads "XXXX XXXX" is a deadbeat. Obviously, I don't want that.

I changed the original amount of the loan to cover immediate needs on the advice of a seasoned member here. It also reflects 80% of the valuation of the URL alone.

Happy to answer other questions here. For serious inquiries or anything that would reveal personal information, please P.M. me.

Thank you.

Hi EmmaGene, I might be a newbie here, but in a real world, I've been working as a professional for more than 15 years.

I just wonder what exactly are you doing in your business. You have been in that business for almost 20 years, and seems like you are making losses in the last few years. In my opinion, you should stop running that business and go to any salaried work.  I'm just not sure how can you guarantee to make a profit again by asking a loan of 0.175 BTC (about $2500) here.

Forgive me if I'm wrong about you and your business.

Why not post your website here for everyone to see what it really worth? Also, if a bank wont trust your "personal reputation" why should we? You maxed out your credit cards, and apparently they are still maxed out (if they arent in default already). Your business is at risk of failing but yet you want us to take the risk? We need something that is worth what youre asking that we can easily sell. your website will be worthless, especially if its at risk of failing.

You've just described just about every reason why we should avoid giving you a loan.

You can't afford to pay off your current debts, and you think people here are going to risk cash?

You're clearly not particularly intelligent, otherwise you wouldn't ask such a stupid question. I doubt you have the skills to repay the loan.

You know what? Most of you have gambling adverts under your posts. You gamble or take money from casinos (who rob people), but won't consider a loan to a hard-working businesswoman.

Fine. Only one of you have given me any helpful advice (which I took.) The rest of you are either only interested in insulting me or asking me questions I answered in the first couple of emails.

So forget it. It's not worth it and I don't need the added stress of coming here to be piled on. Yes, I'm a newbie, I said that from the beginning. With the "welcoming" nature of this board, I'm surprised anyone ever sticks around to become anything else.

No one had to give me a loan. But you also didn't have to be assholes about it.
