One potential use for bitcoin is for reducing Spam by requiring all email to have "postage." The added cost would discourage spammers.  The site operator could split the micropayment "postage" fee with the account holder, allowing acount holders to actually profit from receiving mail.  To prevent brute force password hacks, a micropayment could also be required every time an account holder attempts to log in.

No banner or pop-up ads. No other fees required.  Awesomsauce.

Have you heard of a new, groundbreaking technology called spam filters?

Spammers don't seem to be too deterred, judging by the amount of spam I get.

That's your problem then if you haven't discovered a site called google.com which offers email service, including highly effective spam filters.

This is one of the reasons why people don't send letters in the mail anymore. No one wants to pay to send anything. It's too much hassle.

Help Bitcoins by buying clothes, technology, books, etc. through people/stores that accept BTC. This will increase overall value of BTC as well as mitigate unnecessary bank transaction fees.

You clearly lack imagination. I can think of at least a dozen more horrible ideas off the top of my head.

Go spam with SendGrid, problem solved. Deliverability is not an issue, because that's what they do best. Smiley

I have gmail. Perhaps we have different standards for what "highly effective" means.

It's actually a very good idea - and people forget that Bitcoin makes it possible because it permits payments of .00000001 btc.

I can certainly imagine that, if implemented effectively, senders of email would barely notice the cost and spammers would have a serious hurdle and risk.

Your lack of discernment doesn't speak well for your judgment.

Maybe you signed up on lots of websites that send you newsletters? Typically when you register for sites you can uncheck the box that says send me updates, newsletters, etc.

Then why don't you reason out why it's "so horrible" instead of just becoming the troll yourself?

Except that spam filters work perfectly well. It could have been a good idea in 2004.

What is this word "perfectly"? I do not think it means what you think it means.

If the tax was paid in bitcoin, I'd become a billionaire.
