Hi everyone,

I am researcher in brain and complex systems sciences, and also co-founder of a growing OpenScience community called HackYourPhD: http://www.hackyourphd.org
Recently, I gave a TEDx talk about similarities between brain and socio-economic networks: http://www.extrospection.eu/?p=89
After this, meeting with people in BitCoin made me realize how BitCoin could be an ideal tool for Open Science.
You can find a summary of these ideas here: "The many faces of BitCoin: decentralized economy, crypto-politics and open science" http://www.extrospection.eu/?p=101

Namaste!

Guillaume

I really hope this idea will be supported by the community, and that open-currencies and open-science could gain a stronger diffusion together.
I will follow every future development about this, thanks for what you're doing.

Interesting thoughts, I would have to think that there is already a coin that wants to do what yo want bitcoin to do, which is fund scientific research. Orbitcoin was created to support scientific research where normal funding options are not possible, however I know it has a large premine, so don't go off on a rant about that. If its not for you then its not, just wanted to bring it up if you didn't know about it.

-cheers
