quote BFL forum

"No USB Cable in orders.

by Steve Honaker  , 08-24-2013 at 12:03 PM (67 Views)
Just wanted to let people know if they happen to end up in the same boat I was in. My singles orders arrived today, but did not have the cable to connect to the USB in any of the singles boxes.

The connectors appear to be the same as the USB charging cable for the PS3 Controllers. You can use ones you have or you can buy them at Walmart/Slackers and probably other places as well. I bought out Walmart's and got some more at slackers to cover all the units and all are running at the advertised hash rate with those cables.

Hopefully I can get BFL to reimburse for the cables if I send them the receipt, regardless 5 dollar cables are worth the amount of Bitcoin production."

BFL: no PSU, no USB cable, poor quality fan , "mistake" express shipping rate, etc...

nothing wrong...

Ah, yes, a BLOG post... such a great way to contact a company.  E-mail is SOOOOO passe these days.  Why, if I didn't know better, I'd think he was trolling!

I do not suffer fools gladly... "Captain!  We're surrounded!"

@Inaba
By the looks of it, BFL must be doing something wrong since the forum is flooded with negative posts regarding BFL.
Why do BFL continue to hold their customers in the dark regarding shipping and expected time of delivery?
Understand that people paid quiet a lot of money for a product that they haven't received!

If BFL got nothing to hide, tell your customers whats up. If you guys were to play with open cards and have a little respect and understanding for all the frustrated customers that feel like they are being butt fucked due to the lack of information from BFL, maybe the tone would change

I started this diatribe due to their complete lack of respect for the very people that put them in the position they are now. The final straw was Josh calling BFL's most loyal investors monumental assholes. It doesn't get any worse than that! Anybody, and I FUCKIN' MEAN ANYBODY, that stands up for BFL in spite of just that one event, also no longer deserves respect, for that was completely uncalled for.

Here's another way when a company ignores their calls: http://www.000webhost.com/directory/reviews/webspawner.com

They have completely destroyed websites that I have put a lot of work into over 15 years. It is impossible to contact anyone there to query. It is impossible to log into my account. It is impossible to trouble shoot any problem if not logged in. The original sites that I had for years have been shortened, with the bottom half just cut off and deleted. Messages sent to the only contact link are completely ignored.

webspawner.coom is not as great as these people make it out to be. it says its free its not. you can go to verizon and you will end up paying half as much as you do with webspawner.com. the only reason that anyone would think that that was a good or great site is if they have no idea about the internet

Jeff Ownby, Marketing Manager of SciFi Casino, has had several beautiful popups made for us to use on our sites, to notify our visitors that they must act.

I'm tired to doing all the work around here. Google the above and see if you can link it to Sonny Vleisides' poker site.

I believe someone in Brazil decided to go buckwild on that theme and dropped mid five figures on a custom box designed for bitcoin mining, and basically was earning about thirty cents a day off it.

However, if you believe what the "bitcoin community" is saying, you can mine hundreds of dollars worth of bitcoins a day:

http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/

Im hugely skeptical of the math on that page but hey, take it or leave it.

Bet you can't guess who owns bitcoinx.com.

Compared to the number of orders shipped, the number of complaints are virtually non-existent.  That's not to say we are not trying to improve our process, but at this point in time the "problems" to orders shipped is less than 1%, which is a pretty good ratio, but yes ideally we'd like to get that to 0%.  In general, people only take to the forums when there's a problem, not when they are happy.  There are some exceptions, but it's very rare.

If you have a problem with your order that you've received, contact us and we'll try to make it right.

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

Thank you for your response.
I tend to agree with you, that the negative reviews are dominating the forums, because people is more likely to express their concerns when they have had a bad experience, rather then the good one. Is BFL doing enough to clear any of these concerns with their customers taking to the forums? By the looks on this site, I would say you guys can do better in that area.
Whether the numbers are true or not I cant comments on that. But I find it to be a rather important information, regarding BFL's capability to process orders and have them shipped. You should definitely share this kind of information with your customers.

I know you cant answer all threads in here. But every now and then you should keep people updated with useful information regarding shipping and processing orders and so on.
This is a quote from you site:
Quote
22 June 2013 - ASIC Update
I haven't updated in awhile because I thought the shipping was self explanatory, but people seem to be clamoring for an update, so here we are.

You seem a bit reluctant to do update? Please understand that a simple update every now and then is enough to keep people calm and happy. As I have written earlier, you should definitely try to stay more in touch with your customers.

Again, thank you for your response and good luck in the future

Yea, accept that Phinneas disappeared and before he did he no longer seemed to care about the screwing that BFL is doing... it's almost as if they paid him off and/or gave him a pair of cement galoshes.

His last major investigations were about (1) Brock Pierce and (2) Gonzague Gay-Bouchery, and their connecitions, on which he worked  energically up to the eve of his disappearance.   However, given the almost complete lack of interest of the community, he may have just got fed up with that topic.   (I would have given up much earlier.  I hope he will devote his energy to something more rewarding than trying to protect this community from the scammers and incompentent entrepreneurs it seems to love so much.  Tongue)

On his last day at this forum, he posted about Black Arrow, another miner manufacturer apparently delaying its shipments, and referred to AMT, yet another one which seems to have been an old bone of his.

If he was indeed "convinced" to shut up, there is no lack of suspects...

Conveniently, Jeffrey Scott Ownby, co-founder of Butterfly Labs (BFL) expunged the above info.
