I personally do not think difficulty can keep rising at the current rate for 60 days.    In 30 days I imagine you could get more then 35BTC for it so you come out just a bit ahead.

I strongly disagree.

The difficulty got out of the prediction area since there's a constant HUGE production and demand for ASIC miners as we speak. Let aside companies like Terrahash or Klondike that will (if they don't follow the BFL way) hit the BTC network with several TH of horsepower within the next two months.

Take only Asicminer USB eruptors. 100 of these things will have you running with a 125W 33GH/s miner for under 40BTC (with latest prices). Only one person here (canaryinthemine) managed to ship over 3.5TH of USBs.

My point is that people don't have to wait for brand new super duper BTC mining stuff. They already have it NOW! They only have to order with next day delivery. So... I think difficulty will get higher as Asicminer won't stop producing, for any reason, anytime soon...

Just my 20c.

Chaos could be a form of intelligence we cannot yet understand its complexity.

Just checked Ebay and it is still selling these for ~$6500 with the unit in-hand. I think I'll wait 1 week until I get the unit and then post it. Thanks all .

Ebay is a risk but it might work.  Ebay fees are about $500, so you will net $6000.  The buyer could take it and return it in a month (after mining) for a full refund.  It is not 'legal' but ebay unfortunately allows it.  And that is the rosier fraud scenario, you can imagine the worse one.

Another strategy for maximum return is to just mine with it for 30 days.  Get the $1500 or so of BTC and see where the BTC price/difficulty and selling price of the unit are.  I personally do not think difficulty can keep rising at the current rate for 60 days.    In 30 days I imagine you could get more then 35BTC for it so you come out just a bit ahead.

Thanks that's great feedback. I might do that and see how it goes. Note I just received an email from BFL they shipped my single Smiley

Now the next thing I'm contemplating is the 600GH/s unit for $4k. Shipping in Jan is pretty late but that's a pretty nice setup.

Ok I decided to sell this after-all. It's a nifty box but a little noisy for my small house.

Now looking to sell for 30BTC *OBO*.  I have the unit in hand and can show pictures, etc.. to any interested parties. Will ship immediately upon receiving the order and securing Eskrow (or receiving BTC).

Note I'm West Coast US (Oregon) if folks are in this area.

Update I sold to DrJoeGrine. Transaction for 13BTC + 7990 went fine, however waiting for remainder of shipping costs ~0.5BTC as agreed.

Nope I'm kind of out of the mining equipment business for right now.

Just a heads up for everyone, I still haven't received the 0.5BTC from DrJoeGrine. Several days have gone by. He "might" be a scammer, which is odd given the size of the transaction already paid.

Looks like DrJoeGrine scammed me out of 0.5BTC. Not sure why he did this given he already paid me for most of the miner.  All be warned  Sad Sad

I think you made out on this deal. You got almost 20 BTC equivalent for a unit that now is going for <13 BTC. I would not be crying over .5 BTC or would you rather just cancel the deal and he send you back the miner and you give him 13 BTC and the video card?
