I currently have a number of wallets and was looking into consolidating into a single wallet. My understanding is that there are basically 3 types of wallets: online, offline (sync locally) and multi-key. The last is the one I don't understand. Is it correct that there are multiple keys i.e. local and online; therefore if the wallet was to get hacked and their keys exposed that its users would still be safe as there is also a local key? As long as I have my private keys written down and say from a multi-sig wallet and I safe as rain?

My want for a hybrid is that I also want to be able to spend and receive.

Thanks!
