In case anybody is keeping tabs on these things: I'll probably peel my 25 BTC v2 Casascius next weekend.
It's too valuable for me not to cash it out, and it seems to be the easiest way to get all the value out (including BCH and BTG).
Peeling is risk-free, too.
Cheers from Helsinki.

no real collector values the shitcoins, and any seller really wants the most value out of the coin..

Best option for sure the 25 btc coins do not have a very good premium so let's do some maths - 25 btc + 25 bch (4.3 btc) + 25 btg (0.55 btc) + other hardforks + clams thats around 30.5 bitcoins in there IMO, if you do not need the funds- HODL Would love to buy the peeled coin if you don't want it

I will buy your redeemed coin for 0.06 BTC if you decide to let it go afterwards. If you could save the hologram, that would be awesome thank you

Honestly, as much as I hate to say it...peeling is likely the best choice. I will say I know of a 25 that was saved from that very recently though. Shipping a Cas 25 uninsured via USPS flat rate was quite nerve racking (was not my coin btw)

Back on topic, as much as it pains me to say it, OP will get the most value by peeling this coin and then auctioning the spent coin here or ebay.

Helsinki.. (Out of topic) Finair always leads me there when I'm flying to Europe! (Back to the topic) I'd like to even Fly there if I can buy peeled coin after you peel! It would be awesome if I could afford 25BTC coin without peeling, But 2018 is pretty rough time to buy this with either fiat or BTC, so.. Sorry that I can not help you with halt peeling. Best luck with your peeling, (Safe and Sound) And please let me know if you would like to sell redeemed coin after peeling. Wil write you PM soon. Thank you!

Make sure you take plenty of photos of the coin before you peel it. Also, if you're comfortable doing this, disconnect your phone from the internet and cell towers (airplane mode) and make a video of your peeling and redeeming the coin. Wait until you've redeemed and moved the funds to a safe wallet, then upload your video to youtube. There are not many good videos online showing peeled coins; and a 25 BTC peeling video would be epic!

Agreed. Safety & security is really important, And making a video of peeling it would be.. Educational & Eye catching for newbies! (Not sure too much attention is whether good or not though) Please make a good memory with the coin before peeling it. I Mean it! Thank you..

Can fly in the morning and red eye home, faster than overnight shipping too. Yeah I'd say that's a nerve wracking delivery at this point
