My experience with kraken has been horrible in the recent months.
There is an increasing numbers of dissatisfied customers from Bitstamp regarding long support response times and even some fraud accusations.
These have been the oldest and most established bitcoin exchange in Europe! Kraken is responsible for assisting in processing claims by the 127,000 creditors of Mt. Gox.

It still boggles me that after all these years of terrible business practices, customer dissatisfaction and bad system security, not a single decent EU-based cryptocurrency exchange has emerged.
Some justify the problems due to the increasing demand. These are not just growth pains. It's something more.
Please, let me know, am I the only one with these beliefs?

Most European countries are annoying with every business related to cryptocurrencies and it will be worst soon or later.
So being based in Europe is not so easy to run a crypto business. I know Bitcoin.de based in Germany and BL3P.eu which is based in The Netherlands if I remember.
Maybe you can give a try again with Kraken?

... and BL3P.eu which is based in The Netherlands if I remember.
...

I have been trying to register an account at BL3P for nearly 2 months.
Everytime I try to sign-up I get the error message:

Quote
Unfortunately, due to the large influx of users we cannot
process new registrations until further notice.

I understand that the big altcoin exchanges had to disable registrations
temporarily, but BL3P seems like such a small operation that I don´t really
think that they really had to suspend registrations.

Especially if you look at the number of traders that are online right now
(at the time of my post: 81). Is a number of active users that is below
100 unique accounts really enough justification to disable registrations
for months?

Show me a business that doesn´t want more customers...

I wouldn't say so. Actualy I think EU is quite good environment for cryptocurrencies. EU is trying to regulate cryptocurrencies, probably through some directive, but I don't think this will be bad.
Bitstamp is EU based exchanger, one of the bigest and the best and I don't think they have some particular problems running their business.

Bitstamp is located in Luxembourg, we all know the reputation of the country when it's about finance and their laxness lol.

Before, the company was located in the UK and during this time Bitcoin wasn't considered as a currency so no regulation and nothing from FCA so Bitstamp decided to regulate itself.

When later Bitstamp tried to get a license in the UK it has been refused. (pretty sure it's the reason to move to Luxembourg)

Hi tsoPANos. Kraken has definitely had some growing pains, but with the new trading engine now live, they should be a thing of the past.

We have free trading until the end of January so I'd suggest testing us out once. If you have any issues, please post on our Bitcointalk thread or open a ticket.

We'd love to see you back!

Unlock futures trading with Kraken's Crypto Facilities acquisition!
Do you need support? Please open a ticket here and escalate that ticket using this form.
