Thoughts on low value coins?

Ok using this as an Example
say a token like DENT
or anything of low value has a rapid gain at one point
say it worth in USD 0.02
but has a small pump of up to 0.10 USD in some duration

if i were to invest a large amount of $ to buy a large number of coins at this low value
in that jump? is it possible to make good $?

Yes it's very possible to make good profit when you buy those low valued coins but look at those coins that has plans but what I can see on checking exchanges everyday, those low value coins seems to be like a pump and dump coin. There are plenty of it that you have to choose from. But take note that it doesn't mean that just because it's low value, risk is still there. Invest only what you afford to lose because you might see that coin not move even a single sats.

If you mean that coins with low price per unit are good investments, you are completely wrong. Price of one coin does not matter. You should look at market cap. Your example is not a good one. For sure the reason of Dent price rise why is not its low price.

Probably you will be the one who will pump it, usually these coins have low trading volume, other people will see that coin is increasing value and will jump in the train. Isn't that how whales are doing it?   Joke on the side, coin may be cheap but project can become very successful and it will bring more investors - logically coin value will increase. It's just hard to find such coin.

My own thought in the low value kinds of coins are only few investor who retains or trade this kind of coins because its not click in the market,or maybe some investor are hoarding this kind of coins and wait for a moment that the price value will grow in the market.will about your statement of investing this token like DENT we really dont know in a few months or a week its also a part of high potential coins high value in the market someday.

You must look not only at the price, but in the total supply and coins in circulation.

In your example, DENT is a good project and token.

Yes, that is totally true. Tokens price at the start is not important, the quantity of you hold in will consider the best way to invest at long term. When the altcoin becomes popular and the market boom's this will make you a millionaire in just a matter of time.

The face value of the coin is irrelevant. It is the market cap you should be looking at to determine if the coin has the potential to increase in value.

These low market caps is more profitable than the giant coins in the market,many of undervalued coins has small market caps thats why these coins are sleeping giants waiting to be wake up by some good fundamentals.

Low market cap coins have more room to grow but generally speaking they are also riskier and there are so many of them now.

You just have to really do the research.  Check out the whitepapers... blah blah blah... the team, where they are regarding roadmap, what do you think about the industry, blah blah blah

But a coins rise does not always make sense, e.g. dentacoin (I am not picking on dentacoin).... whales anyone?

It wouldn't hurt to get a bunch of coins at a significantly low price. You could just let them rest in your stash for a while and watch them accumulate some value. But not all will give you profit. Now this is where "only invest what you can afford to lose" will come in. But of course, your gains in the other coins/tokens would most likely compensate for your loses from those loosing coins. It's a trader's world! And that's how the game goes...

You need to look at low market cap coins, not low price coins. You should take a look at Hive, it has quite a lot of potential to grow.

DENT Has a huge marketcap right now, it is over the top 200 of coinmarketcap if i am not wrong, since i checked it for the last time a few days ago.

But yes, you are right, the only thing who matters in here is just the total supply, and the marketcap of the token.. Not the price.

A lot of people think that the price is the only relevant thing in here, and it is not.

that small pump...was it because of new money? or was it because the team increased the circulating supply?

But it is possible to make some money with low-value coins since they can grow over time, you can make a small investment and just hold until it finally gets its breakthrough in the market.
But you shouldn't buy coins just because they have low value, you should do a proper search (whitepaper, team, project, roadmap, etc) about the coin that you want to invest in, since most of the time those cryptos are probably scamcoins that are playing the pump and dump game. For example, DENT could be one those since the team behind this shitcoin keeps using the cryptocurrency trope of "partnership with X company" to create hype and pump the price.

It's possible to make a decent amount through invest in a large number of coins but you must remember the fact that depends on the project itself, The more good news and there will be a lot of fundamental will come to the coin.
That brings a lot of pump and hype and then traders will be rushing to buy it as fast as possible.

It depends on the project that the coins developer would be putting up on the future. Devs must be active and gives update to the community, to develop trust and to increase the number of hodlers. If you think that the coin has a good purpose, and the project is still in development, it is most likely that the coin will increase its value over time, as people realizes its true value. In order to do that, you must research about this coin, read the whitepaper, the roadmap and be active in the community.

There a few coins with market caps lower than 200million that I like a lot but right now the market is the low caps are not doing as well.  I do expect my picks to shoot up when the money starts coming back into the market.

You just have to do the research.  What is the product, where is the company regarding roadmap, what industry, etc.
