You're asking a question that not only nobody can answer, but one that you should be able to reason by yourself having looked at history. Why did you jump in in semptember without doing any of the required homework?

Anyhow, best answer I can give you is that last time we hit a bear market, prices went down further and didn't recover for a couple of years.

Bitcoin's astronomic ascent in the second half of 2017 is not the standard. It's not the way you should expect bitocin to ever move.

I've been here since 2010/1, and trust me when I tell you that if you don't start studying a lot harder you will get burnt. badly. Keep an eye on altcoins, too. If you look at the overall crypto cap you'll see there was more growing between when you camein and now.

Very much explained .  People who did not do their homework before investing are the one often to sell when they see the price is going down.  There had been a lot of scenario like this but guess what, those who are Bitcoin millionaire today won't be millionaire if they did not do their research.  They knew that theprice will definitely increase, the factors are there, adoption, deflation of circulating coins, development and finite number of coins.  It may take sometime but just chill, price fluctuate, earth revolves so does the condition of Bitcoin market trend.

   There are so many comments without any sense, like this newbies are kids  without
brain. How to classify them, it is a mystery for me. They do not know what was yesterday,
they bought on $15000 and they are nervous.
   We all hope for fast recover, and most of us believe in that. I am waiting with patience

On Dec 17th, it reached its high of $20k, and it has taken almost a month and we're still below those numbers.  What is your estimate for when we can be above $20k again and onward to what people predict for this year ($50k-$100k)?  Another month?  March?

I know nobody knows for sure, but just looking to hear about what people's gut feel is (and only from those who have btc experience over a year please).

It is probably best for you to stop investing in bitcoin, if you cannot deal with the current movements in the price then what it is going to happen if the price crashes for some reason, besides if you have been here since September then you got a lot of profits since bitcoin was not that expensive at that time.

If you have been watching and reading many bitcoin price prediction, stop it right now and decide whether you want to buy more bitcoin at current rate which is cheaper than $20K, or you want to hold it for long-term?
You know that bitcoin will recover, just put faith in your heart about it. January is the time for most cryptocurrencies to fall down, it's a good time to buy bitcoin and altcoins.
I assume bitcoin will recover to $20K in March or April, but to reach $50-$100K, it may takes longer, maybe in the end of the year.

maybe he needs to break for a while from cryptocurrencies to enjoy his life and he needs to refresh his mind so in the next time if he wants to comeback into cryptocurrencies again, he will have fresh minds. maybe in September, he already makes a nice profit but suddenly he got buy at the high price and makes him cannot sell his coin to make another profit. but I think he really needs to calm down his mind by doing something that not related to cryptocurrency world.

It's a yearly dip. Well we should learn from our mistake dont do panic selling when it dips if you have a big capital for investment don't put all eggs in one basket because you'll end up loss. so better hold it than to sell it. newbies are always like that they should read technicals and fundamentals of bitcoin and it's 4 years now since the last drop.

For 2018, I'm very pessimistic if bitcoin will set foot on $ 50k or $ 100k. Because according to my personal predictions, bitcoin prices for 2018 will only reach the level of $ 27,000.

Forget about TA or FA for a moment and look at the history of Bitcoin, what do you see? If you look close enough you will see instability, volatility, and unpredictability.

If you continue to  bother with what price says every now and then, you might end up having high B.P because no matter the amount of analysis you watch or study, there is absolutely nothing you can do to move it from the current position as an individual rather I would advise if you want to hold, hold if you will sell then come back later when things stabilizes, there is a market for you any action you take, its all good.

I think if he is sick on watching the price but he still wants to buy bitcoin, my suggestion is to buy bitcoin at any price and then close every exchange that he joins and take a rest for a while. with doing this, no matter how much bitcoin price is down or up, he doesn't know and don't care and he prefers to use bitcoin for his long-term investment so I am sure that he doesn't have to sick for watching the up and down of the price and he can use his time for another thing.

I don't know when the price could reach $50k but we could break more than $20k in this year, hopefully, we could increase more than $30k-$50k in this year too. besides that, when bitcoin price is down, I see most of the altcoin follows to go down because usually when bitcoin is down, many altcoins start to increase and fixed the price. I think this January will be a new start for cryptocurrency and in the next month, cryptocurrency will start to increase.

Going above $20k this year is really possible. The current state of pricing today for me is just correction that is way long overdue because of the postponement of Segwit2x and it being resechedule to further date. Thus increasing the price exponential from $8k early November of 2017 to a massive $18k on December 2017 within a span of a weeks.

Welcome to the club. Bitcoin and crypto for that matter is so volatile. You need to bear that in mind. It can't go on a bullish trend, its not sustainable, and sooner or later the price will go to a market correction. This was to be expected, actually I find it surprising that in December we didn't get to $10K.

Again, I'm been asking the same question, why are you guys like somewhat attach to $20K price? Can't you have just a little bit of patience to just wait? We are going to $20K, but it will take a little time to get there. I guess you really bought bitcoin during its peak at $19K, right? Then you can't do anything but have some patience. Short term we may be plunging to $10K or below, but long term, bitcoin can get to $20K-$50K.

i feel like bitcoin will pump a day or two from now, not only because of its indicators in the charts (TA) but the fact that the lightning network is being implemented already and the adoption of LN is increasing, though not all wallet providers have supported it but soon they will.
