I expect for this year, Rootstock (rsk), lightning, Schnorrr, Mast, Atomic swaps.


Schnorr is a softwork not a sidechain, and most important Rootstock is almost out and is in beta right now which is the last testing phase.
Rootstock has been in development for a very long time, and will bring Ethereum to the bitcoin. Which means Ethereum prices will drop
drastically.

More projects will come for 2018-2019+


You need Bitcoin for the use of blockchain, Bitcoin is the payment app. You can make alot of apps for the blockchain, you can also call these
apps sidechains, or 2th/third layer and drivechains. Bitcoin can only go mainstream with these sidechains forget blockchains.


Bitcoins potential is very huge and for sure can replace the monetery financial system. I don't know how much % but 1% penetration will make
btc 100k+ for a coin.

The points you raise are good, and highlight the overall work on the Bitcoin blockchain. But the price does not necessarily tend to follow development. The huge rally in 2017 was not led by the deployment of something revolutionary in Bitcoin, it was driven by speculative investments by retail investors in Asia.

That's the correct way of saying this development and I think if this can really be done soon then Bitcoin can make into the limelight again. One of the big reasons why we have a surging Ethereum because so many new coins and tokens are using its good platform and if we can bring the same ecosystem to Bitcoin then am expecting it to explode further. Of course, we should equally be excited for the Lightning Network that can hopefully bring the transaction fees down significantly. It is time that we highlight these developments for Bitcoin so as to stop those who are getting discouraged in its use and future potential. Bitcoin will never be out of use if devs will continue on thinking creatively on how to upgrade it for more uses.

We all want that, but seriously, there aren't many chances to see it going up during this week, it has already went up by a lot of money, the price needs to have a break for a while.

I think price needs to be stabilized as there has been lot of pumps and dumps in the value of bitcoin which affects other altcoin value as well like we saw recently when bitcoin was going down people started shifting their funds to altcoins like ripple which gave their price a huge push but as far as bitcoin is concerned it will rise again like how it did in the past but it will be good to see a stable price.

Wow that's good point i did not know if ETH is coming to BTC or in other words smart contracts for Bitcoin that would be awesome. But prices will go up I don't think so. There will be a competitive currency against BITCOIN sooner or later but what I believe any other currency won't be reaching $10k mark instead Bitcoin will come down to $5k to start a competition
