I have 8 measly bitcoins at Mt. Gox and I can't get them out. I get this message: "Your account is currently pending review, please visit https://mtgox.com/forms/verification"
I have to get a security review to withdraw 8 bitcoins now? I'm not asking for USD, I'm asking for my bitcoins. Is this a new policy or what?

It is capital controls being exercised by Gox to limit the outflow of Bitcoins.

I just went through it for the same issue.  It was fast, painless and they unblocked my account the same day.

There were a number of mtgox account thief cases recently, and the oweners bitcoins were wipe clean.

The verification (whether effective or no) is just an additional measure to protect the owner, especially when you are emptying out that account.

I do not have a verified account, but they're forcing me to get one. Apparently my sin was to log onto the site using TOR. I don't see why they can't solve this problem with a few extra security questions or an emailed link. No bank I've dealt with puts me through this BS.

Mt Gox puts accounts through verification if accesssed via Tor for years now. It says this on the website somewhere, I forgot where exactly, but that's not a new policy at all. Probably because account hackers so often use Tor.

I'd like to see that link.

I'm so glad I bailed on Gox after the Dwolla seizure.  It sounds like such a hassle to deal with them.
