It is a frequent an wise advice on many threads of the forum to do your own research (DYOR?), however that is easier to say than to do. Anyone would like to throw some tips o how to properly do a research for an investment?

yeah well I read here a lot of stuff, plus reddit
Also I follow different Telegram channels and platforms CoinJournal, the Merkle, CoinIdol
My personal pick is cointelegraph youtube channel! It's just so funny. There's not THAT much information, but it's kinda enough and it's also very entertaining Smiley

I always pay attention to the project team. The bigger and older (a good experience) the more confidence will be to the project, so your investment will increase many times. This is one of the most important conditions

1) Checking whitrpaper and team (experience, legitimacy)
2) checking Telegram (discord) and Reddit - whether team is answering questions or not, how team members help community
3) checking internet and other telegram groups - you will probably find what other people are thinking about the project

Ofcouse first check their website if it's legit or not. You will notice if it's https or secured, then check the whitepaper if it's good. Join their telegram channel, reddit community, twitter, facebook page and here are forums. I also get other inputs of other people about the coin what's their point of view if it's long term or short term.

How would you go about checking the team´s legitimacy? That is, how would you check in a reasonable time and with a reasonable cost if the members claims are true?
