KICKBTC.COM - Player vs Player - 3 Game Modes

Hello, bitcoin talk community,

I am working from quite some time to this player vs player platform and I think it's the time I release it. Here are some informations about it:


Game fees
To make it clear from the beginning, all the games currently have a fee of 1% from the won amount. For example, if you win 1BTC the house will take 0.01BTC leaving you with 0.99BTC. The fee percentage is shown on all the CREATE/JOIN game buttons when you hover them. In case a game ends as a draw there won't be any fee, the full played amount will be refunded to the players.


Game mode: Jackpot

• About: Any user can join a game of this type. The game starts when the jackpot round has 25 players or 30 seconds have reached after 2 players joined.
• How it works: When a player joins a newly created game with the amount of 1BTC (the amount is just an example, it can be anything - it's the amount that the user wants to play) he will own the tickets from 0.00000001 to 0.1000000. When another player joins with the amount of 0.5BTC he will own the tickets from 0.10000001 to 0.1500000. When the game gets in the finished state the winner will be determined using the following formula winning ticket = ceil to the 8th decimal(random number * jackpot totalBTC).
• Provably fair: At the beginning of the game the website will generate a random number with 8 decimals (ex.: 0.12345678). When the game is in the created/in progress state the website will show only a sha256 hash of a random salt and the random number which can be checked against the revealed details at the end of the game.
• Minimum bet: 0.00002BTC
• Maximum bet: Currently there is no such limit because the games are played vs other players so the website doesn't need any kind of "backup" BTC to pay the users.

Game mode: Coin Flip

• About: Any user can create/join a game of this type.
• Provably fair: At the beginning of the game the website will generate a random pick between heads/tails. When the game is in the created/in progress state the website will show only a sha256 hash of a random salt and the pick between heads/tails which can be checked against the revealed details at the end of the game.
• Minimum bet: 0.00002BTC
• Maximum bet: Currently there is no such limit because the games are played vs other players so the website doesn't need any kind of "backup" BTC to pay the users.

Game mode: Rock-Paper-Scissors

• About: Any user can create/join a game of this type.
• Provably fair: Not needed since the website isn't generating any random factor for this type of game.
• Minimum bet: 0.00002BTC
• Maximum bet: Currently there is no such limit because the games are played vs other players so the website doesn't need any kind of "backup" BTC to pay the users.

Account security
The users will be able to sign in by using a password. To secure even more their accounts, they will be able to set up two-factor authentication (Google Authenticator + backup codes). All the user action logs (sign in, game creation, game join etc...) are shown privately to the user under the Action Logs area - in case there is a suspicious request (someone tried to sign in to your account with a wrong password) it will appear as a warning under that page so that the user is aware.


Chat
Currently to filter out the "bad" users from talking there is a limit of minimum 1BTC in order to say something (happy to lower it if you think it's too much).


Testnet version of the website - "test BTC"
It's live, anyone can test the system at https://test.kickbtc.com/. New users will automatically receive 2.69BTC (test BTC, not real BTC).
The deposits are instant.
The withdrawals are instant.
Mainly this part will be used for new features so that the users can test out. This way we avoid releasing something that is broken.

Livenet version of the website - "real BTC"
Not released yet, thinking to release it on Monday - 22 January 2018 - it depends on the feedback that I receive from here.
The deposits will require up to 6 confirmations in order to be processed.
The withdrawals won't be instant and there will be the transaction fee imposed by the bitcoin network (the website won't take any fee) - they will be verified at the beginning so that the users didn't earn extra BTC from bugs etc... - hope this makes sense. In future, I am planning on switching it to process them automatically.


Currently, it's just me that created/works on the whole website so if there is anyone that can help with the promotion of it please PM me.

Looks like there aren't many testers. i like your site, would definitely like to play/test with others.

few suggestions..
Improve site load time, i feel like site is bit slow.(on mobile)
Cancel bet option in jackpot or expire bet if no one joined after a minute or so?

Just only one tester and ive seen no one ever played on the site.Same as you said i do like the site when it comes to simplicity but there are lots of question about on the mechanics of the game specially on the jackpot one because coin-flip and rock-scissors are just common games which basic knowledge is only needed.Loading times on PC is just fine,i havent tried it on mobile.

And then you take 1%, so this is similiar to playing dice where the operator takes 1% for his service. Can I also use skills when playing against other players?

I will try with different phones to see if I can find the reason for the slow load. However, the site is caching every resource so at the next visit you should have a better load time.
Adding the cancel bet option for the jackpot game sounds like a good idea - will start implementing it.

Well, you are not playing vs the house, you are playing against another online player. The platform only generates a random pick. I totally get your point but yeah...

No it's not . the game there are completely player vs player I've checked it out. Don't know what's the actual problem on a pvp platform games always lack of interest, even the game has been made animated to make people feel the real entertainment. Alexandra You might want to make it more animated? Or just keep it simple like that?

Your fee is quite high for 1% and it is when winning but when games started you will always get 1% from every winners because there will be always a winner on every game that you provide. Actually it is like house edge to me as 1% but every single time that player win you will always get 1%, then this is such a ridiculous thing. Btw do you even have huge of withdrawal fee?

What skill you have to play on this kind of luck based games? I do not think skill is involved in these games, probably you may try some strategies to play but I'm very sure even if you have skill no matter what it is then the result will be just based on your luck.

I visited the site almost hourly, since yesterday and I could not find any player to go head to head with. The concept is simple and I like the Chatbox. <even though it was as quite as a grave>

When I saw the domain name, I thought it was going to be some 3D fantasy oriental RPG with the focus on realistic martial arts, but I was disappointed. The classic Mortal Kombat style games, would have been a refreshing change to the ordinary games that are being offered these days.

Review : Still in the early stages. Very basic concept, but nothing out of the ordinary. I give it XXX/5

No it's not . the game there are completely player vs player I've checked it out. Don't know what's the actual problem on a pvp platform games always lack of interest, even the game has been made animated to make people feel the real entertainment. The game mode: Rock-Paper-Scissors can end up as a draw - in that case, everyone gets the full played amount of BTC back (no fee).
I am already thinking about creating some sort of jackpot and from that 1% a certain % to go to that which can be later won by a lucky player.
There is no withdrawal fee imposed by the website, the only withdrawal fee that exists is the bitcoin transaction one. It is currently automatically calculated by bitcoin core.

Thanks, the testnet version was recently released, hope that when I release the livenet version where you can play real BTC will attract people.
The testnet version was not meant to be full of players, it was made just for testing purposes before launching something.

I have to say that it is a must for gambling sites to accepts altcoins these days for the reasons you have mentioned. Advertising and promo also a must here because it is a pvp gambling site, without ads and promo then it will very hard to get good traffic. There are too many pvp sites failed to survive because the lack of active players. So owner will need to spend much money as well as much energy and patience in order to gain good traffic.

Yes I know I am looking forward the lightning network as well, currently the website doesn't accept other coins - I am not sure how to proceed in accepting other coins because the domain name contains btc in it .

I am patient, the first line of code for the project was written on 20 Sep 2016 when the fees weren't so high.

According to the community feedback, the things that I have in plan to tackle are:
- Add explanations to the games so that people know how to play them;
- Cancel entry option for the jackpot game;
- For the beginning, lower the chat minimum balance to 0.0001 so that the new people can talk - this will be increased over time;
- To give more back to players, from the 1% (the website fee), take a % and add it to a general jackpot which will be later won by a player - not sure how to determine the winner so any ideas are more than welcome;
- To attract more players at the beginning I am thinking to make some kind of referral system where the players who invited someone get the 1% from the invited person's first 10 games - or something like that.

Good luck on implementing those thing listed above and accepting community feedbacks is always good because you do able to see on what they are asking for.Just a tip after things have been polished just put some budget on marketing later on. When I first clicked on your link it brought up a white page with nothing on it. I refreshed the page and got the same thing. The third time I refreshed, it worked and was able to see the website. I use Microsoft Edge as my browser.

The webpage is clean and nice. I appreciate its simplicity.

I'd be careful about making this though, because depending on what country you are doing this in it could be illegal.

Interesting issue with Microsoft Edge, I will try to get on a Windows machine and investigate.
I am not sure what skill based games can be implemented as a browser game? Any game that you would like to see implemented?

Update on the release: Won't happen this Monday - 22 January 2018. I still need to do some performance improvements on the front-end part.

- [done] For the beginning any user can use the chat;
- [done] Implemented the referral system where users will earn BTC from their referrals - they will take 50% from the 1% from the first 10 won games from each referral;
- [in progress] Cancel entry option for the jackpot game;
- [in progress] To give more back to players, from the 1% (the website fee), take a % and add it to a general jackpot which will be later won by a player - not sure how to determine the winner so any ideas are more than welcome;

Will try to deploy the [done] features asap on the testnet version.
Will update the topic when I managed to do the performance improvement.
