Ecosystem Design Vision Paper, Ch. 3:

The word “ecosystem” comes from the field of biology. In nature, a healthy ecosystem is a combination of elements — organic or inorganic, wet or dry, living or dead — that interact in intricate ways to sustain life. When an ecosystem is functioning well, one barely notices the mechanisms that keep the circle of life going. It is when conditions suddenly change — due to the introduction of a predatory species, a shock in the freshwater supply, or a contagious disease spreading through a population, for instance — and the ecosystem stops working well that one understands how it functioned before and considers how it may function better in the future.

Hello guys! This is a good project
If you believe in the project  you won’t care about the price now and if anything you’d want it to fall lower.
I’m hoping it falls even lower so I can buy it cheap. In my opinion it’s a bit overpriced at the moment.

I can't understand what happens to the price of tokens? Large holders sell their tokens? or does the market affect the price?

There is two ways to approach the decentralized application stack. One is to build the foundation first, and then build the use cases next. That's Cardstack's approach. The other one is to find a narrow slice, and then build all the components but in a one-off basis. The second approach is more similar to what Augur just released, which is a full-stack dapp that only does prediction markets. The Cardstack platform matched Augur's platform almost one-to-one (node, docker, indexing DB, smart contract and electron app). Our approach is that we are extensible in every layer, so developers don't have to spend 3 years to build something like Augur from scratch, but use our stack to customize only the layer they need to change and re-use the modules we already have. To show the developers can do this in a month or so, you will see a lot of features released from Cardstack as demo apps on key use-cases we are working on.

I can't comment on or discuss price speculations with you. That isn't even the purpose of this thread. But I can assure you that the team is doing a lot of work and making lots of progress that will push the project forward and benefit the entire Cardstack community. Cardstack’s design system aims to give makers and designers the tools to assemble cards easily and get quickly to a working product. This design system will be focused on making current crypto workflows more usable — so that early adopters of Cardstack will be able to experience and visualize the physical transfer of assets and information on the blockchain.
The Cardstack design system will be demonstrated with the launch of Cardspace, a token-operated content environment for experimenting with Card based UX design.

I think that the main reason for the price drop is the fear of investors. Falling market, killing the demand for the tokens. Therefore, the price is falling rapidly.

What are the different types of application you are going to develop for the smart contract? Cardstack has good potential and we already saw it at the time of crowdsale, so now team should focus on the further development to get more awareness about to the community.

Hi there, Cardstack is developing the experience layer of dApps, this will act like as the app store where users can pick and choose what dApps they want.

The Cardstack team responds to user comparisons:

While we like their simplicity of explanation, [Zapier] are trying to do a much smaller slice than what Cardstack is trying to address. Direct automation between two tasks on two blockchains is not the only goal. With Card UI, we are really hoping to replace the primary user interface with composable Cards where Cards can get chained together without you having to log in to three or four applications on three browser tabs. Zapier can automate some data flows between the three apps in your three tabs, but they are not designed to be the primary user interface thru which you interact.

The Electron app basically makes decentralization possible. Electron creates an environment so that you can run the Hub locally — like on your laptop. Soon, you will be able to run a copy of Cardstack, fully decentralized on your own desktop. Read about the development of our new Electron app — and more: https://medium.com/cardstack/developer-update-hub-improvements-e63fdb6322c3
