Hi! Couldn't find any topics on bitcointalk about ICO of Telegram messenger. Not sure that this topic belongs to this discussion board but couldn't find anything more relevant... So is it for real that Telegram is planning a huge ICO or internet is just going crazy about fake news?  |

At news online, they told something like that. But it is not official yet. We all waiting something like this big. But, i don’t think they give it a start in this rough times...

Yes , it is true , the command telegrams will hold ICO . Want to collect 500 000 000 $ . And there will still be some fees from certain large sums , like everyone is not so easy to come by

I think that telegram is one of bounty social media. Many ICO give chance for the bounty hunter to join their telegram and they will give many rewards for people who join them in telegram. So it is real news and not scam  |

no any official info about it . only rumors, but i heard from a lot my friends investors , that there was already somewhere WP of TON. Search in google for it.

I don't see the official ANN, but what they say in the discussions is very similar to the fact that Telegram stole ideas from another project - e-Chat (decentralized messenger with multicurrency wallet and blog platform with "crypto-like" function).

I read about $1.2 bln but still not sure it's true news. The information I'm finding seems controversial. What is your source? |

Still waiting for official announcement from Telegram. I believe they should be able to do that through the telegram app.

We can't be sure about it , until Durov declare it officially . Everything that comes from unofficial sources can be just a manipulation and scam .

The official statement from the telegram team was not yet, but yesterday on some (I do not remember exactly) the channel in the telegram read the news that there will be an ICO. True or not, I do not know, lately a lot of fake news.

Telegram is a privacy focused application with 180,000,000 users. The Telegram FAQ states “making profits will never be an end-goal for Telegram.”
There have been unverified claims that Telegram security has been compromised, if true then Telegram is of course working to fix this.
The pricing model of the TON ICO, would have benefited from that of EOS. The EOS ICO benefits from a more transparent price discovery mechanism.
Around 50% of the tokens will be held back by Telegram, to “stabilize the market”.
