"Russian president Vladimir Putin believes that legislation laying out rules for the country’s cryptocurrency sector will be needed in the future.""This is the prerogative of the central bank at present and the central bank has sufficient authority so far. However, in broad terms, legislative regulation will be definitely required in future,” he said.

Regulations will be implemented simply because governments want to benefit from the profits made by taxing them.
Stop dreaming and wake up... do you really believe the different government (especially in Europe) that always try to pillage everything on a daily basis, especially the defenseless, the unemployed, the workers, the savers... these governments will let crypto-currencies settle, currencies that people can freely exchange?
These governments already wish to kill cash whenever they can.

Governments and banks will 100% surely create some laws and legislations for cryptocurrencies, it is just a matter of time until it is going to happen. If they can take profit out of this why wouldn't they add taxes to bitcoin? It will be interesting to see what is going to happen because it is hard to work with a system like bitcoin and add taxes to it since all the transactions are totally anonymous. Probably they are going to close all of the wallets and open a single one controlled by them where they can check everything but that seems pretty impossible right now

It doesn't matter if it's needed. They're going to implement them anyway. Crypto has a legit chance of changing how the world and the economy works, so I'm sure governments are going to want to make sure things don't spin out of control. All we can hope for is that the regulations are fair, and don't compromise the growth and evolution of the technology.

The only way to stop these regulations is if crypto dies a premature death, but that's not likely at all so...

Bitcoin is known to be used for money laundering and illegal activities, we can't deny that, and actually, the government is hate all about that things, they think a cryptocurrency is a threat for the country. I believe as soon the cryptocurrencies is getting a lot of attention from a country mainstream, sooner or later the government will regulate it.

Yes,it is needed or it will be implemented by every governments in future. The backbone of every government is that our taxes in crypto currencies there is no need to pay any taxes to them so there is no benefit for the country, mainly for the politicians. So they will regulate which means implement the necessary taxes which can give enough revenue for the governments.
Another reason for regulating crypto currency is to stop the illegal activities on their country because we can use crypto currencies for illegal activities with ease because of its anonymity.

That is a compromise that I think we need to take just for us to ensure that whatever we would be doing there is a continuity of bitcoin and cruptocurrency for us. Having a legislation in place means that a country or government is acknolwedging cruptocurrency and having it regulated keans that there are safety nets for everyone of us that is dealing with bitcoin and making transactions on a daily basis with this cryptocurrency

Agree with that bitcoin can be used for illegal activities but stopping bitcoin doesn't end the illegal activities in any countries so the governments need to stop the illegal activist and other stuffs who is involving in the crimes rather than banning bitcoins which is helpful for many people to earn good money.

Aside from the Government imposing tax on Bitcoin or Crypto related transaction, maybe the Government wants to make sure that the Cryptos are not being used by corrupt government officials to launder or hide their stolen money. It may take time for them to fully implement this as it would require thorough study or else they are just wasting time investigating a Bitcoin transaction that leads to no where.

While there will need to be taxation law regarding cryptocurrency I don't think there should be any oversight additional to this. For instance banks shouldn't be allowed to say no or yes to where you send your money it your money but that is the problem with central authorities sometimes they do what they want! I don't want to deal with that stuff anymore and that is why I don't think they should legislate harder nor do I think it would go well.
