Hello there,
I am installing my first rig. I have a question about powering, I'll be glad if you can share your comments.

- Inventory
1x MSI Z370-A PRO 4000MHz (OC)
1x Intel Pentium G4400 1x 8th Gen Intel 1151 CPU
1x OEM DDR4 Memory
6x Palit GTX 1050 TI Dual (OC) (85 W per GPU without OC) http://www.palit.com/palit/vgapro.php?id=2709&lang=en&pn=NE5105TS18G1-1071D&tab=ov
2x 500W PSU
(PSU One: HighPower ECO 500W HPE-500-A12S)
(PSU Two: Dark Force 500W DKPS500S1)
6x USB 3.0 Standard Riser
1x Add2PSU

I plan to use HiveOS or EthOS as the operating system, I will not connect the hard disk to the system.

Both power supplies have [one PCIe, 3x MOLEX and 3x SATA] power outlet. I will connect the SATA outputs to the risers.

However, as you know, GPUs also have PCIe power inputs. Is there any problem if I connect the MOLEX power outputs of the power supplies to the GPUs with a converter cable like below?

Or is there another option/recommendation?

Thank you so much!

Your CPU and motherboard are not compatible.

To further explain, Z370 is LGA 1151 v2. It was made to have a different pin layout than previous LGA 1151 CPUs and sockets. So the only CPUs compatible with Z370 chipset are 8th-gen Intel. G4400 is 6th-gen. You'd need an i3-8100 to be compatible. Which may be worth it considering motherboards that support 6-GPUs for 6th and 7th-gen Intel are hard to come by these days.

No problem, I can replace the processor with 8th gen.

Apart from that, do you see any theoretical problem? Thank you!

This.

Also, get a proper PSU.  Dont' cheap out with shit garbage and then rig up molex to pcie adapters.  A bad PSU will/can destroy your components and will be inefficient which cuts into your profits.  Power is not something to fuck around with or cheap out on.  Get one 1000W good PSU and sleep easy at night. Don't do this, this is a very bad idea, Peripherals/molex/Sata has different wire gauge specifically design for low wattage around 75watts max compared to PCI-e cables specifically designed for GPU, agreed also with the posted above me, go acquire a decent PSU to maximize and protect your investment including your house for burning. Thank you. Is there a PSU you can recommend that can feed 6 GPUs?

For PSU there are some brands/models that are better than others. 10 year warranty is the best.

Tier 1 is best, tier 2 if you have to. Power supplies are like GPUs right now, hard to come by.

Been using EVGA 1000W G and G2's in over 20 rigs since 2013 and never had a problem.

Thank you guys for your comments and help!

I will get 1x 1200W or 1x 1000W PSU and install it with the i3-8100 CPU. I hope it works without problems Smiley
