best miner for neoscrypt on gtx 1070 (and gtx 1070 ti)?

Hi all,

There are a myriad of miners out there for neoscrypt. I already compiled and tried ccminer-klaust and ccminer-tpruvot but they get 950 under Ubuntu 16.04 with nvidia 394.110 (also tried 384.90 and 384.98) and overclocked +175/+1200

I'm seeing posts from people claiming they get 1100 on gtx 1070 for neoscrypt but I can't get past 950 at all. I have no issues hitting the best scores for other algos (I used to mine mainly equihash and ethash until now).

Could a kind soul tell me which miner is best for neoscrypt on gtx 1070 or tell if there are any things I need to enable?

have you check if your linux disto was updated? Maybe you have this problem?

I rebooted and now my GPUs are hashing 20% lower than previously—what happened?

If you’ve just rebooted for the first time since January 9, 2018, you may find that your system has automatically updated to linux kernal 4.13.0-26. The update is designed to patch the Meltdown/Spectre vulnerabilities present on Intel CPUs, but it may also wreak havoc with your mining hashrates. If you’re seeing significantly lower hashrates compared to before the last time you rebooted, you can manually roll back the update by entering these commands:

sudo apt-get remove linux-image-4.13.0-26-generic && sudo apt autoremove -y
sudo update-grub

Reboot (sudo reboot now) and your hashrates should be back to normal.

ccminer-klaust seems to have very good results. Play with the Intensity , may be you can get some better numbers and stable mining on your GPUs.

Should the intensity be as high as possible so that it doesn't say "out of memory"? Also, is there a way to set intensity per card when running a single ccminer process?

mem clock seem to make no difference whatsoever (asus gtx1070 o8c gaming) ... i thought neoscrypt was a mem intensive algo?

anyone care to share their ccminer-klaust parameters and oc settings for gtx 1070?

hsrminer for neoscrypt, it features over 20% improvements over klau's ccminer
and memory's speed is very important for neocrypt, so add as much as your gpus can stand!

Hsrminer gets my vote as well, getting over 1300 kh/s on 1070 ti.

I get an average of 1265 for each of my 4 MSI 1070 Gaming X with ccminer-klaust on Windows 10, +100 +600. I was getting 1150 on stock clocks. Never tried hsrminer though.

no, for gtx 1070 the best miner alexis 1.0 with intensity set to 16.5 or hsrminer
and another important moment worth to mention, that memory should be overclocked  at maximum possible level
then you will get nice performance boost and can push over 1200-1250 kh/s

That’s a good point. It’s certainly faster than 8.18 but at what cost.

From my experience, ccminer-alexis78-ms2013-cuda7.5 is a tiny bit faster than ccminerKlausT
I set intensity to 16.63, but if you get out of memory errors, you can try to lower that.

Overclocking both core and memory helps, but the exact clocks depend on what 1070 you have, some have higher TDP, some have different memory etc. (I have 3 different ones and they are all different) and it also depends if you want maximum hashrate or efficiency.
You should see more than 1200Kh/s if going for hashrate, and about 1100kh if going for efficiency.

Hsminer is about as fast, but also has a dev fee.

hsrminer def gets more hash, but I've found it unstable on one of my rigs. See what works for you the hash difference between klausT and hsr is about 200-300 if you have -i set properly with ccminer. I've done power tests - hsrminer cuts back about 2-3w per card over klausT - that's the difference for me. The 1% dev fee is much less than the extra few w/hr ccminer is using. I lowered TDP 100/90/80 and the watt difference between the Miners is important. Keep in mind TDP increases hash too about 10 hash per 10%TDP.

Do your own tests but I hope that helps. Gonna spend the next week continuing to fine tune in spare time.
