I am taking it the blades put out more heat than the usb miners. Only operating about about 120w i would think not so much.

What about the usb miners? Do they get warm to the touch? Need a fan blowing on them?

With pictures like these i would say quite a bit:

you can easily find the information on the forums by searching or elsewhere.. Also, all of the energy that the device comsumes will be dissipated as heat. So an usb blockerupter consuming 2.5 Watt (500mA and 5V) will dissipate 2.5 Watt.

That many fans for a blade are not needed btw

So in that case they probably have the heat output of a basic computer.

USB miners do get very hot to the touch, mostly from the lack of proper heatsinks on the Front and back of the ASIC. Also keeping Electronics cool is a good way to keep them living longer thus having a higher chance of making more BTC. While the picture you posted is a bit overkill for cooling, that blade will have better odds of lasting much longer then with less cooling.
