Hi!

Im trying to "mine" some Bitcoins with the BitMinter client..

So I just started getting into this stuff from a tech-site I regularly visit

The thing is as I understand a 7979 will operate at around 600 Mhash/s (because that what the tech-guys had)

I now run this with my Nvidia gtx 690  (which have about the same performance as dual 7970)
but I only get to a maximum of 220 Mhash/s which I find to be extremely low for such a high end graphic-card

I have read that AMD card is better for this than Nvidia, but having twice good card as 7970 and still just have 1/3 of the Mhash is ridiculous and unrealistic

So do you think I have any wrong settings or something at all or is it just the card being Nvidia (I also updatet to latest gpu-driver.. didnt improve at all)

getting a bit frustrated  Undecided

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Nvidias card architecture precludes meaningful hash rates. What you are seeing is correct.

yep. a 40$ block erupter USB mining device will give you more hashing power than the nvidia card. will be less noisy and less heaty as well. If you want to do it for fun, get one (or as many as you wish). If you want to make money, forget it. They will probably never ROI
