Project info:The project runs on cheap VPS, which is not for sale. The project used to run on Linux system but for last couple of months it runs on Windows, so you can choose which system you want to use for it. There are only two important factors. The first one is the disk capacity and the second one is bandwidth. There is no special requirement for CPU or RAM, the project is very low on these resources. Any reasonable installation of PHP with MySQL is enough.
Bare minimum for the project, and its current usage, is 16 GB of disk space. We would recommend using 50 GB or more, see more info below.
ImgUpload.sk runs on Mihalism Multi Host (MMH), which was highly modified in order to be able to work with much greater number of images than it was originally designed for. The largest number of images hosted by ImgUpload.sk was over 250000, which took over 110 GB. Our modification of MMH handles these numbers without problems and even greater numbers would not be a big deal for it.
We have created 3 localizations - Slovak, Czech and English. It is primarily chosen using cookies and in case of a new user, the choice is made using the browser's language preferrences.
MMH supports sharing images from anonymous users as well as user registration and management of users' galleries.
We have implemented hotlink protection, which means that all users have to visit the website and can not simply put IMG tag on third party server and consume bandwidth without visiting ImgUpload.sk. This protection can be disabled.
