These are all quite long and obscure riddles. I've been at it for the last couple but am not getting anywhere.

Well done. Will keep trying.

Got a few lines into writing a brute forcer, until I realized there are approx 167000^5 = 129891985607000000000000000 possibilities... Could be useful if your only missing 1 or 2 solutions though.

If you got the first key, which is 6 chars long, the second riddle is really not that hard. Wink

Haha, sorry, it is 5 chars, actually, and you probably got it.  Lips sealed
As a bonus, mary's mark is just one char.

Recounted, it is 6 5 chars. Bit hard to count that many provided my current state...  Grin
EDIT : fixed the fix that made you think it was 5 chars. 5 chars it is.  Undecided
Added more to the loot, hoping you'll forgive that.

While I haven't actually cracked any of these riddles, and probally never will (riddles are not my gift), I do get the feeling that I might be a solution.

"The powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences. The apex of the systems was to be the Bank for International Settlements in Basel, Switzerland, a private bank owned and controlled by the world's central banks which were themselves private corporations. Each central bank...sought to dominate its government by its ability to control Treasury loans, to manipulate foreign exchanges, to influence the level of economic activity in the country, and to influence cooperative politicians by subsequent economic rewards in the business world."

Oh wow.. You lost me now !

I thought it was "sense", I know Mary's mark for sure, now I just need to stick it in a new key Smiley

Also, I think missed your fix ? Was it the lines ??

Replace that unique one with the mark Mary Read left on the map.
Consider the mark as a mirror, and fix the reflection.

Now just keep on!  Wink

There could not have been a unique one with 6 chars.

WOW!  This is just ridiculous.  I don't know where to start.  Does one have to be a programmer to understand these riddles?

How did you think of these riddles? I am awed!

Just solved the second one (but only that one). Indeed, a bad ear helps!

Then, just follow the guide.
