This is convenient because inputs and outputs are both publically visible. With Wisp, it is no long required to have these values be public in order to verify the transaction.
If a user sends a transaction on Wisp, all necessary values are homomorphically encrypted using a blind signature. This has the advantage of securing all transaction data and keeping that transaction confidential, but it still allows us to compute using the encrypted data. This means we can still check to validate whether the inputs are equal to the outputs, therefore verifying the transaction as legitimate.
By combining this method with a DAG-like structure, we can ensure an instant, scalable payment solution that requires no transaction fees and no loss of user privacy.
