I'm sure you could get them made pretty cheap, these are usualy done with CNC routers, to get the wood and rent some time on one would not be too expensive, ask around and you will most likly find a friend who has a friend who has one Tongue then its really cheap.

Since btc is electronic money, why would they need a sign on their store front? Sorry ... I can't help but wonder how would one pay the store owner with btc. I have always imagined btc used in online transactions ... "money" transferred electronically.

Check out this article about a restaurant in NY that accepts bitcoins:  http://nymag.com/daily/intel/2011/06/i_spent_a_coin_and_i_liked_it.html

I love it!!!

Although I can see the issue for someone without a smartphone (typing the whole address). Plus, you'll need a laptop to transact (digital and electronics factor).

Don't get me wrong, I hope there will be more people that accepts btc. I'm in it as well and I hope it turns out well.

Thanks for letting me know BitcoinPorn!

first off,  these are signs we made for friends and shops in our area.  They are definately not cookie cutter and have some differences among them.  We were not planning on selling them, but if we can convert some of our workhours into bitcoin, that rocks!!

These signs are lazzor cut, and we just made a few more( this time varnished for shine  Cool ).

each of those images is a different sign, as its wood there are some differences.  So its first come first serve.  If you want clearer pictures of any of the signs let me know.

For these we are requesting 2btc per as they are made out of the "good wood" mahogany!   There maybe some additional costs for shipping, Ill have to see how much it costs after someone places a order.

the trouble with these wooden signs is that each piece of wood cuts differently under the laser so adjustments need to be made all the time.  Also knots and lines in the wood will cause differences in appearence.   If these  are bought up we will work on sourcing some smaller cheaper pieces of good wood.

We are discussing making laser cut plastic signs as well for 1 btc.  Upside of plastic is, they ALL will look exactly the same.  We will do our best to keep it classy.  Let me know if there is interest in this, large orders welcome!

Also, we also did a small run (20 of each) outdoor grade UV/Vynal stickers so merchants can put a "bitcoin - accepted here" sticker along side their "debt card" stickers.

pic any 5 stickers for 1btc (includes shipping)

if you want a btc address so you can send me coins, send me a message and Ill generate you one.  For the quickest reply use reddit, as I do not check these forums on a regular basis.

You need to find a company that can do laser engraving. Here is an example of such a company in the UK that I know of: http://www.etchfast.com/main.php?id=laser-engraving. Similar results can be achieved with rotary engraving, but the darker colour of the letters comes from the heat burn of the laser, so a sign made by traditional methods would need some kind of colour-fill to make the letters stand out. Cherry wood looks good and can be obtained as a veneer-coated sheet material for engraving.

Of course it is also possible to engrave "laminates" with laser or rotary methods, in this way a multi-layered sandwich of phenolic resin, plastic or similar material has the top layer engraved and the layer below is revealed to show a constrasting colour. A good choice would be Traffolyte (flat colours) and Eurosign (metallic) for rotary engraving or Lasermax (gold, silver and flat colours) for the laser.
