Hi all,

I started this plan in Sept 2017 to make 1 rig to make some cash as of work and if i made £200-£300 a month i would be happy.

Watched about 3 weeks of videos and guides and started to make a rig from selling rubbish in garage and using that cash for the idea. i pre ordered a sapphire pulse 8gb rx580 on amazon at a special price of £242 as they were over £300 in most stores. Due to told at the time needed a min 6gb for any dag increase and 8gb would make the card use able for 3-5 years. A week later the price dropped to £107 and i got 5 mates to order and gave them the cash to cover the order as was limited to 1 per customer on the pre order.

I had to wait to November ( 2 months ) and out of the blue all 6 was shipped at the price of £107 GREAT £642 was the total for 6 brand new cards. I could of sold them and made £900 profit but i didn't.

i then ordered:

4gb ddr 4 ram, 1600watt PSU, 4 12cm fans, mining open air rig, sky-lake dual core CPU and a msi a270 board and of course some risers.

Now the first msi board after installing windows went tits up, the LAN went. Sent back got a replacement and reinstalled windows and all seemed ok after 5 hours. Watched the bios mod guide and flashed all 6 cards and was making 180mh/s on a test of claymore. 1 hour later the LAN went again. SO i sent back and went for the asrock h110 13 GPU board as saw a deal for £119. Sods law this was 3 days before Xmas and was told shipping would be 28th December. This passed and was told 8th Jan, then that came and told 17th Jan. But it turned up Tuesday just gone.

Now for the last 3 days i have reinstalled windows did a full update to 1709.
installed block-chain drivers from Aug 2017 and have flashed all cards with 1150/850 2150/850 bios and getting 181.01mh/s and running just under 1000 watts on the kill meter

im testing with claymore and nice hash at present and says should make £450 a month before power (£120)

i have been getting a lot of GPU1 watchdog errors (87 i think) and the mining restarting
i replaced the riser and moved the card on the board to a new slot and also in bios made sure 4g on, audio off and at present all 7 settings say GEN1

Thursday night i ran a test and after 2 hours i didn't get gpu1 , i got gpu5 error and it restarted

can anyone help why not 100% stable and rebooting?

im about if anyone wants to pm and also can turn on with teamviwer

Please post this in the altcoin section, you will get answers there. This is the bitcoin support area.

Stop buying industrial miners, running them at home, and then complaining about the noise.

James I would get HWINFO and take a look at the memory errors you are getting on your cards and reduce the overclock on the memory or increase the mv to 900 until the errors are reduced. I had one card that had a lot of memory errors I simply adjusted till I found they had gone then reflashed bios fixing to those settings.

I have a 12 card setup, but the rx570's pull 750w 167H/s ETH so your 1000w seems high. Mine are running 1075 1965 which I settled on for wattage.

well guys and gals (if any) i turned the rig of this morning at 4am after a days test.

I had NO ERRORS.

Using claymore or nicehash.

I did have a gpu5 problem in the morning. This is what i found. When the software fired up, all other gpus fans where 80% but gpu5 was 0% and took a few rolls of code to get to 27%. This would after a while give the GPU hang error.

so I rebooted, moved the pci connected to a new slot and then loaded trixx. see all 5 cards are at 80% but gpu5 at auto. Changed to fixed, 80% and then tested claymore and 2 hours no errors. stopped, loaded nicehash and it ran for 9 hours without a error ( about from the stop every so for DAG. SO i think i may have a stable rig. Just going to check the flash on gpu5 as must be somehow not got the 80% fan speed on boot. I was doing 181mh/s and 980watts at wall. Would of course like to drop 80 or so. but that can be done after i sort of covered the old dustbin cupboard to a few shelves for rigs.

english?

This is only my thoughts, but to be honest I don't like this open air rig frame.

Firstly the back rubber part is over 5cms away from where my card needs to sit. The seller on eBay shows a photo of a "normal 2 fan card" sitting nicely on the back and screwed in the front.

i made some wood and a cut out to help not push the USB part of the riser. They then told me a needed a extra bar. The bar if it was sent would be from the 2 holes on the side and would mean that you cant have risers as in line with the USB port. The PSU is blowing right on gpu0 and gpu1 and lucky is not hot air. The front is OK for 4 12cms fans, but no support for the 3 parts at bottom and you could not use and dvi or HDMI under the fans to a screen. As you can see i have used a right angled HDMI to dvi . There is 2 holes on top of front, that possibly could add another fame for 6 more gpu and fans i guess.

As this was my first learning curve, i may make others from wood myself if i make another one.
