In order to spend more time working independently on deep protocol
work, especially new cryptographic privacy and security technology for
Bitcoin, I resigned from Blockstream last November. It took until the
end of December to wind down my involvement there.

Bad day for Blockstream, He is one of the best contributor of bitcoin core and is in fact one of the major person behind BlockStream.
Conflict or contradiction in decisions can led to these situations, but this guy is pure genius it seems that he have some creative ideas for future which would be useful for the blockchain and bitcoin.
