为宣扬慈善、扶危救困，少林寺发起“少林慈善行”活动，1月17日，农历腊月初一，全国人大代表、少林寺方丈释永信走进贫困户家中，为他们送去温暖。当天，释永信来到少林寺的对口扶贫村——登封市君召乡水磨湾村、蔺沟村的贫困家庭，看望贫困户，并送上了被子、米、面、油等新年礼物和红包。临走前，释永信对一位村民说：家里遇到什么困难了，可以随时和少林寺联系。
