build: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ItsNoGood/saved/Z2T3FT
+ 4 gtx 1060 3gb, 2 gtx 1060 6gb.

So I was struggling to get a 6 card mining rig up and running, as only 5 of the cards would be recognized. I solved this problem by uninstalling windows, flashing the bios with the newest update, and reinstalling windows. I thought I was golden and had finally got my 6 cards all running, which I was... But when I restarted my computer to increase the virtual memory only 5 cards were registering again... I tried uninstalling windows, flashing the bios, reinstalling again and, sure enough, it works fine until i restart... Any ideas? Something I can Google to figure this out? Seems like a really weird problem that makes no sense and I couldn't find any fixes to this from the first page or 2 of my Google search. Did increasing the virtual memory mess something up? Cuz now that I think about it I don't think the restart is causing it. I have to restart to do windows updates and after those was when I tested to see if 6 cards were working (which they were until I did ANOTHER restart after that).

Have you tried different miners, or even Linux?

If you're mining Ethereum you might want to check out EthOS, which generally works out of the box if your rig manages to actually recognize all of your GPUs (automatically downloads and installs the laters drivers when you tell it to etc).

If it's the same GPU which is missing maybe there is a faulty riser.

Ahh thanks, linux works fine. And it wasn't the miners fault because in geforce expirience it would only recognize 5 cards. So yeah it was probably windows fault. is windows not well suited for mining? I'm not gonna use ethOS because I'm not planning on mining etherium, especially since some of my cards are 3gb and won't be able to mine it soon due to vram limitations.
