Hello all,

I was wondering if someone could walk me through the process of updating the libcurl dynamic library so I can use MacMiner.

The text and corresponding error is:

Code:
dyld: Library not loaded: /Applications/MacMiner.app/Contents/Resources/curl/lib/libcurl.4.dylib
  Referenced from: /Users/eli/Downloads/MacMiner-1.app/Contents/Resources/bfgminer/bin/bfgminer
Reason: Incompatible library version: bfgminer requires version 8.0.0 or later, but libcurl.4.dylib provides version 7.0.0

As you can see, the app is clearly internally referencing its own copy of libcurl.4.dylib, so how would I go about finding a copy of the library for version 8 and how would I update it within the app? Are there other workarounds for this issue?

Try to put MacMiner in the Application folder and rename it "MacMiner" (right now it seems to be named "MacMiner-1").

That did it!

Now, my only issue now is that the pool I'm using only has Stratum servers, and MacMiner threw me an HTTP error for no Stratum support. Is that what I'd end up using a proxy for?

I don't know why you get that error because MacMiner (or, to be more precise, the backend miners) does have Stratum support.
Maybe you could post the logs so we can see what's going on, here or in the MacMiner official thread.

I'll get the logs for you as soon as I log that computer backup - it's late, loss of productivity eh.

It is working, but not well. For stratum I'm getting 5.9KH/s combined on both CPU and GPU, whereas with a simple Java web miner on CPU only I consistently stay above 11KH.

I'm trying to access this server:

Code:
stratum+tcp://wemineltc.com:3333

As soon as I get the comp up tomorrow, I'll get you the logs. If I haven't edited the post by the time you see this, stay tuned; I'll edit the complete application output right into this post.

bfgminer isn't great for cpu mining, you can get better out of the GPU with much higher intensity but still not great scrypt mining. The cpu miner window uses pooler's cpuminer and gets the best speed you can out of a CPU.
