Hi, this is my proposal mining rig.

I would buy this kind of rig with all of these devices so I could mine straight up ETH, or some of its tokens.

  • 7 * Palit GeForce GTX1050 Ti
  • ASRock H110 Pro BTC Mining Motherboard with 13 PCI Express Slots intl
  • Intel Pentium G4400 Skylake 1151 3 3Ghz 3MB Cache Processor
  • Kingston Desktop Memory 4gb 1600Mhz
  • Corsair Hxi Series HX1000i 1000 Watt Fully Modular Power Supply 80 PLatinum Certified intl
  • Kingston UV400 SSDNow SSD 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
  • Aluminum Case to hold all of these components
  • Risers

I chose Palit GTX1050Ti (Philippine brand) because it has less noise, less wattage, and less cost than its brothers: 1060/70/80.

At this set up, I calculate to get about 84 mh/s when mining Ethereum.

Rate of kw/h here in the PH is about $0.20.

I say I'd get about $311 at the current price of ethereum.

What do you guys think about my proposal mining rig?

I'm a newbie at mining and also underfunded, so I will buy a better rig when this proposal rig is bought and gives me income.

You can also post your mining rigs here and I will take a look at it for future references!  Smiley

Looks like a solid setup man, but I'm not too familiar with the 1050's GPU

Just for reference one of my rigs running 6 1070 Ti's was making about 205Mh/s at the pool so I'd say your estimate is pretty spot on for those GPU's but what's your profit projection?  Is that monthly?

Goodluck!

I have a EVGA SC 1050Ti that's getting 14.4MH/s with a 600 mem overclock. If the Palits have good memory and good cooling you could expect 14MH/s from each card making 84 total.

You always have to figure in overhead losses though. Pools eat up to 1%, Claymore eats 1-2%, and stale shares have gone up to 7% in some cases for people with high latency.

If you have access to 1070's at a reasonable price I would get 2 or 3 of those instead of the 1050s. I can't find a single 1070 around me so starting with 1050s might be the only option for some.

You need DDD4 2133 MHz memory with the ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ motherboard. Preferably get one listed on the QVL.

So how much less Watt + noise are those 1050TIs compared to 1060's?

Looks like a solid setup. One other option for the motherboard is also the Octominer B8PLUS motherboard that has 8X full size PCIE 16X sockets and a built in Intel 3855U CPU, this way you don't need to buy extra risers(also extra hassle to set up and troubleshoot the risers) or CPU.

Pare ko, I think the more important question is the availability of those parts.  All of the proposal is useless if you can't get the parts you wanted anyway.

You may want to ditch the aluminum case and make your own and save loads of money that way.... which you'll need to put into buying additional fans to keep the rig cool.  I hope you're not planning to put this in an airconditioned room unless the power costs for the aircon is free, otherwise the aircon will be eating into your profits.  Good luck!

Yes! My profit projection is monthly basis.

Thank you for your reply! Your compliment is much appreciated!

Hi, thanks for bumping into my thread.

Can you share your mining rig set up please?

I haven't talked much about miners here in the Philippines.

Besides, I am wondering if I get a solar panel to use for electricity costs.

I know I have gone too far with this because of also including the solar panel for my projection.

But will solar panel used for electricity consumption be worth it?

The rig you have proposed is good and economic but you cant expect much returns with it. I dont think you will have $311 with 85Mh/s. Since I have a rig with 5x 1050Ti and 2x 1060 3G with total hashrate upto 116Mh/s. I get around 0.3-0.35 ETH per month.

I think building some of these high density yet low power rigs is worth it given the shortage on higher end GPUs. I just built two systems with 9 x RX 550 4GB in them (each, 18 cards total).

Stats....

Cryptonight: 3,600 H/s per rig (no cpu mining) @ 450W
Ether: 99 MH/s per rig @ 500W

What is the noise of those 550's? You using an open air rig?

Might start looking into something similiar with the current GPU shortage, otherwise i'll just wait, my current rig uses RX570's but looking to build a second one, let us know how you get on with the 1050's.

May I also ask if I should get 1070 Ti's instead of 1050 Ti's?

Some would say it's better to start on 1070 Ti's, because I would eventually upgrade my 1050 Ti's once it starts generating enough income for me.

Or should I stay at 1050 Ti's and stay in it because it would be the most profitable of all GPU's?

(In terms of *ROI, *electricity cost, availability, heat, and lifespan)

I need your opinions here guys! Smiley

1070Ti is much better as it has hash speed and the relative overhead of the computer system is less.

yup, at msrp the 1070ti is the best card in terms of hash/watts/cost($) - at least right now it is
